Although their name isn’t synonymous with high praise from collectors, I have to give Gullwing Motorcars credit for digging up forgotten barn finds. This 1970 BMW 2800CS is listed here on craigslist with an asking price of $4,950, which isn’t bad for a dealership known for the occasional lofty asking. Although it’s labeled an “easy restoration,” these cars are known to rust in places you didn’t even know existed, so I’d treat any claims predicting the simplicity of the rebuilding process with caution. The automatic transmission would surely need to be swapped out for 3 pedals, and given how much work is already involved, originality is hardly a concern. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Olaf E. for this find!

maybe a parts car at best, the autos sucked chancing out for a 4 speed is not bad. I have done it with a friend in a day.
“easy restoration”?
What a joke. Just like Gullwing.
Post removed. Probably sold already. These are going up in value quite a bit so the price wasn’t bad at all depending on the amount of rust.
Gullwing motors advertising on Craigslist, hahahahaha
It must be “cheap Project” dealer day (that’s like in: cheap Dealer of project cars) at BaT considering the Elan is on the other coast …
