It’s All Downhill From Here…Part 3

SB PEP

That’s right folks it’s Soap Box Derby time again! If you’ve missed part 1 or 2, be sure to check them out! Now for part 3! Above is a late 1930s to early ’40s racer that is listed here on eBay and rolling in Hamilton, MI with a BIN of $1,500. We love the style of this slick little derby car!

Pepsi Logo and original Chevrolet sponsored decal are original to the car. This beauty is a Class A car for the period.

SB 8

And now for another way to go down a hill. Located in Beverly Hills, California and listed here on eBay with a BIN of $950. The car is 60 inches long, 28 1/2 tall and 34 inches wide at the wheels and 14 inches wide at the body.

The steering mechanism and grill appear to have been re-purposed from a vintage pedal car.  The paint appears to be original and is in decent shape.

Red and White Soap Box Derby

In Decatur, Indiana is a “raced once with a ’60s helmet” on ebay with a BIN of $199.50.  You also get a spare set of red wheels.

SB 64

Next up is a project or two from Charleston, SC listed here on ebay with a BIN $299. These shells are about 80 inches long and are about 60 lbs.

No matter which of these cars you pick, we sure you’ll have fun with them. You and a family member (or two) can have a project to work on together, the chance to make some memories and more importantly have some fun! Well that’s it for Part 3 of the Downhill feature. We hope you guys have enjoyed these!
Cheers,
Robert
