I did a double-take to see if I was reading this listing correctly, but it appears to be real: three Avanti projects here on eBay for $12.5K! Two out of the three are said to run, and my guess is that getting the third example operational shouldn’t take too much heavy lifting. Each car possesses some unique qualities as well: the blue ’67 has a striking green interior and is said to come with its original powertrain; in addition, as an Altman-era Avanti II, it sports the attractive chrome bumpers and is somewhat rare compared to the other two cars. The silver ’81 is a running/driving project that looks very straight with a decent interior, and the final tan car – the one pictured here as a non-runner – has a few extras from the factory, like an original moonroof and rear luggage rack (as someone who digs well-optioned cars, that’s my favorite of the three). I hadn’t realized just how nice the interiors were on the later cars, with well-bolstered sport seats and a padded dash, among other touches. For $12K, I fail to see how you go wrong if you’re an Avanti collector and want to build a new project while keeping others on the road.

Geeez, that deal was snatched quickly. What a find! looks like I’m day late and a dollar short :-(
Can’t say I blame them at that price. Seems like a good buy, especially if chassis rust ok…
Wow – that was a new listing, too. Incredible deal!
sold for $11000. someone got a great deal. did anyone on the site buy these? great find
An old saying among Studebaker fans: there’s nothing more expensive than a cheap Avanti…
Ah but these are Avanti II…besides the GM engine, I wonder if they used a GM frame or if these still have the ‘hog troughs’ that rust so terribly…
