1-Owner 65 Years! 1936 Ford Tudor Touring Sedan

Trailer-fresh and ready for a buyer with vision, this 1936 Ford Tudor Touring Sedan in McCleary, Washington served one owner for 65 years, presumably in better condition for some of them. Missing its original V8, interior, and many other parts, it offers a host of contiguous parts if you don’t mind surface rust, or it might become an interesting custom or hot rod. This listing here on Seattle craigslist.org asks a mere $3450, probably doubling what was given for it. Thanks to Roger for spotting this long-forgotten classic.

The built-in trunk distinguishes this “Tudor Touring Sedan” from the “DeLuxe Tudor Sedan.” Thanks to lov2xlr8.no for some details. The sportier three window DeLuxe Coupe may get most of the attention in the hot rod and custom world, but this two-door sedan gives room for a family-minded enthusiast with room for four adults.

After giving up its gauges and more to further other car projects, this sedan may have been considered worthless before “Barn Find” became a good thing. The condition suggests metal eroded by more than surface rust in many places.

A void under the hood once housed an 85 HP “flathead” V8,  leaving room for the powerplant of your choice. EcoBoost swap, anyone? How would you treat this long-neglected Ford?

The owner may have had this car for 65 years but there was something done over those years, besides losing the engine and instruments: The wheel hubs have been changed over so it is more than likely that someone has converted it to juice brakes. I wouldn’t make that kind of a change but I can’t speak for everyone else. This would be good fodder for a resto-mod but I would do my best to keep it reasonably correct. I’ve got a 21 stud flathead which would fit in just fine. It’s a later block (having the blanking plates for the lower water pumps) but I might be tempted to drop in an 8BA or an 8CM. Those later engines line up almost as easily with the upper rad hoses as did the pre-’37 enignes. A little more power as well. Rather than go back in time and change the brakes and hubs back, I’d probably keep the juicers and get a set of vintique wheels. A lot of potential here…

Looking at the pictures and wondering why someone would let a beauty like this deteriorate I was thinking what about those wheels didn’t look correct, they should have been the wide 5 style, then when I read the craigslist ad it was cleared up stating the car had been converted to juice brakes in the last line of the ad.

Neat car. Wouldn’t mind getting a look at that green car in the background. Lot of work there but unique enough to make a cool restomod.

Parts from this one might have been used to finish up the green car…

Beautiful car with a 318 auto, bright red candy apple, leather interior, new wheels.

One owner means nothing when a car is in this condition. You might just as well lift the body off the chassis roll under a 4×4 and go mudding. Not my thing just sayin do what you want with what’s left of this.
    God bless America
