1936 Chevy Pickup: Looking For A Good Home

1936 Chevrolet Pickup

From Don E – Hey guys! I restore American classics and sports cars here in Southern California, so I’m always on the hunt. I dropped off my personal car at the body shop yesterday and saw a covered old car sitting in the back lot. It belongs to the body shop owner. His 1936 Chevrolet pickup was going to be a restomod project. Sadly he hasn’t even had time to start on it and has accepted that he won’t get around to it.

He said he would rather see this California original truck with surface rust but no cancer, go to a good home than sit there any longer. I took some pics and attached for your review. It has a bill of sale only, as the original owner hadn’t seen the title for decades. However, I shared with the current body shop caretaker how to obtain a valid California title. That takes only about 3 weeks to be issued.

So is anyone interested in giving this old truck a good home? The owner is hoping to get $2,900 for it, but may be willing to hear offers. Since he is busy running a body shop and needs to focus on fixing Don’s Audi, he has asked Don to help with the sale. If you are interested in giving this truck a good home, give Don a call at 714-600-4459 and he will be more than happy to answer any questions or arrange an inspection!

    That’s not a 1936 model. Maybe a 1946. Body style was used 1941 to 1946.

    That’s not a 36 Chevy! Could be a 46 or later.

That’s not a ’36 Chevy. Chevy used that body style from ’41 to ’46.

Yep, Tom ‘n Lee are correct, it’s NOT a ’36, it’s a 1941.. this is an archive photo of a 3/4-ton model; the grill and hood side-vent louver is the giveaway characteristics..

Just a thought: If it is a 1941 it may be worth restoring. I know car production was very low in 1941 due to factories switching over to war production.

Doesn’t it seem odd that the owner didn’t know what year it was and a guy that restores cars didn’t either? LOL

I just fond this a bit funny.
