This 1964 Ford Cortina MK I was sold but never delivered or registered and remained stored at the UK dealer in Cambridge until just recently. You may remember seeing a few that Ford imported in the 1960s, but these are quite rare on our side of the pond. I suppose this will end up in a museum or in someone’s private collection, but perhaps after all these years it will get a chance to see the open road! It’s for sale in the UK and listed here on eBay for £25,000. So would you drive this 58 mile Cortina or do you think it needs to be preserved in a museum or collection?
Well, that went fast. While I’m always happy for the sellers and buyers, and Hemmings does this too. When a vehicle is sold, we don’t get to see the pictures, as I, along with others, I’m sure, would love to see the this car, just because it’s such a time capsule. I realize, these sites are about selling cars, but to a poor boy like me, these sites are more of a virtual car show. I remember seeing a few of these around, but mostly, at Road America, in the sports sedan (?) series.
If you want to see the pictures, go to the ad, it will say sold, but at the top left hand corner it will say ” see original listing “, you will see the ad as it was, pictures and all.
Hi Wayne, wow, thanks. I saw it said “removed by seller” and didn’t go any further. No doubt in my mind it’s new. And what’s with the automatic shifter on the left side? Are the letters reversed too? BTW, when I saw those tail lights, AHHHHHHHH!!!!! I always thought those tail lights looked like the creatures eyes in “War of the World’s”. That, and ” The Day the Earth Stood Still”, were 2 of the scariest movies I remember as a kid.
