1967 Buick GS400 Convertible Survivor

1967-Buick-GS400-Convertible-Survivor

The Gran Sport was the performance version of Buick’s Skylark and it was built to run with the other muscle cars of the day. This one is claimed to be unrestored and appears to be in remarkable condition. There are a few rust spots that give us concern though. Do you think it’s worth the seller’s $23,500 asking price here on eBay?

There were two engines available in 1967, but this particular GS is a 400 so it has the then new 400 cubic inch V8. That meant 340 horses were going to the rear wheels. Throw in a convertible top and you had the recipe for some real summer fun. Buicks dont normally get our blood boiling, but that redhead under the hood is giving us second thoughts…

Nice but steep, the rust isn’t too bad, but a closer look appears to have lots of surface rust in the engine bay area & coming from Ohio your going to need a closer peak at everything.

I love the 60s Buicks. I restored a 65 Buick special two door post coop 300-2 V8 supper turbine 300 transmission.. I plan to eventually drop into it a 340-4 I got out of a GS. Seeing its basically the same engine just stroked with a four barrel carburetor. It’s been a very dependable automobile for the last 20 years now. I bypassed the stater switch for the switch pitch torque converter and hooked it into the break light switch it works much better this way. I was told years ago the hot roders did this..The special has more of a hot rod look to it because it didn’t come with all the crome trim that made it look like grandpa’s car .. It gets mistaken for a chevelle all the time Seeing it is a A body chassi.

Indeed these are fairly quick. I’m not into verts but the car is attractive. The seller is showing underside pix that are lacking in focus and subject matter………

    I like a good nail head……….

My father’s friend had a coupe the same color. Despite expressing interest in the car every time I saw him, he sold it when I was off to college for $1k. Grrrr…

This was the “new” engine that replaced the nailhead motors of the past. Clean lines and very few out there,,,23 k is kinda high asking price,,, but doubt it will sell at that level, if it was restoread,, then “YES”

Nice rare find. GS is a big plus, convt is another, the high hp engine option another. This is a true collectable. Definently worth the asking price.

I own a 67 coupe. It is a beast with 440 lbs. of torque and turns a lot of heads. They are much more rare than GTO”s, Chevelle”s, etc.. I paid $28,000. about 6 months ago for a partially restored car that still needs another 10k to really get it nice. If the rust is not too bad, I would buy it.
