This 1967 Shelby GT500 was produced on March 23, 1967 and delivered new to McCafferty Ford in Trenton, NJ. One of 2048 GT500s that year, only 1376 came equipped with the 4-speed manual transmission. The 50,760 miles have been documented through its history in the Shelby registry and on the vehicles title. Still retaining its original paint, interior, and drivetrain, this car is an immaculate survivor and one of the finest examples remaining in the world.

The exterior of this car shows the original factory paint in lime gold. Paint imperfections from 50 years are apparent, but overall the paint still shines and shows extremely well. There are almost no signs of corrosion anywhere on the body outside of expected surface rust. The seller notes damage located at the bottom of the drivers side quarter panel, where there is a 4-5 inch puncture of unknown origin. All body lines are intact, and there are no dings present on any panels on the car.

The hood has expected scarring, especially present near the hood scoop most likely from engine heat over the years as well as some spiderwebbing present throughout. The passenger front fender has some wearing on the paint from a previous owner attempting to buff the paint. Both driver and passenger doors have paint chips, primarily towards the end of the door which can be seen in the photos.

All fiberglass components (hood, trunk, side scoops) all show well and do not have any major damage or cracking. The trunk does have some fiberglass imperfections as seen in the photos.

Although not styling the famous Shelby 10-spoke wheels, the Shelby hubcap wheels currently equipped are the original components the car left the factory with as seen on the invoices. As the previous owner said, with a car so original why change the wheels it was born with.

The interior of this Shelby is all original. The black parchment seats show well, although the driver’s side seat does have a stitching tear seen in the photos. Both door panels are original, with scratches by the door handles seen on both sides. The driver’s side has cracking on the arm rest as well as fitment issues at the top of the door panel, resulting from worn-out backing. The carpet looks excellent and retains the dark black color from being stored out of the sun.

The seller notes that all gauges are functional outside of the speedometer, which occurred recently and stopped him from driving it any further to avoid affecting the true mileage of the car. The lights, radio, and oil pressure gauge function flawlessly. Interior running lights and door lights function as intended. All seat belts are original, wearing the Shelby badge, and both shoulder harnesses and roll bar are intact and functional. The rear seats and carpet show little sign of usage and look excellent.

The drivetrain on this survivor is all original and went through a full rebuild under the previous owners care during the last 5 years. The original drivetrain runs excellent, and shifts through all gears as expected. The clutch feels new, as is expected with less than 1000 miles since the rebuild. The seller does acknowledge that the original carburetors were lost during the rebuild process, and now the car has 2 reproduction Holley BJ-BK four-barrel carburetors.

Underneath, the car shows what appears to be black undercoating most likely from the dealership prior to purchase which has helped protect against corrosion. In places where the undercoating has worn off, red-oxide primer can be seen showing through. Both frame rails appear without corrosion but do have signs of improper jack use resulting in some damage.

This is an amazing example of a survivor 1967 Shelby GT500 powered by the original equipment drivetrain. Included with the sale is a framed deluxe Marti report, original keys, and documentation, and AACA award for most original car. The seller also is including a date-correct set of BJ-BK carburetors in need of a rebuild. The seller is happy to show the car or answer any questions regarding the vehicle.
