This 1968 Mustang coupe is obviously a stalled project waiting for someone to take over. It’s located in Minot, North Dakota and is offered for sale here on eBay, where the buy-it-now is only $1,650 but lower offers are being solicited. Yes, it’s engine-less and lacks a transmission. But there’s almost $1,500 worth of new sheetmetal from Dynacorn included in the sale in addition to a new firewall and radiator support. The car’s drivetrain was originally an inline 6 and three-speed, so if you want to install a manual transmission at least the pedal box will be there already. The seller asserts that the car needs new front fenders, a new trunk lid and replacement windshield and back window. I wonder what the ’65 wheel cover is doing on the front? At this point, I’d be tempted to build a Trans-Am tribute car like this one. What would you do with this largely blank canvas?
Yep, once you get ’em apart it is easy to lose interest. Another basket case. A mustangmania type will need to pick this one up, if only for the spare parts.
Mustangs are always rusted out.
That sound deadner ford sprayed on bottom of car holds water from leaking windows,etc like a swimming pool and rusts out whole floor and subframe.
My last mustang was a 1966 that looked great from bottom,but when I got it home and removed carpet all floor metal was gone and I was just staring at that lousy undercoating.
Started checking and front subframe would crumble in my hand.
That will be my last mustang ever unless I can find a good 79-93 notch back fox body.
I like those and chevrolet engines fit right in.

Been there done that, never again. Too much money that you can’t recoup even if it’s a desirable car which his isn’t.
Its a good deal for a Ford guy with piles of parts. For anyone else, not so much. But if you are sitting on some treasures, you could build this into something great for very little if you have skills. Personally, I love the idea of the Transam tribute car. Mustangs of this type just do not bring the big money other classics do. So have some fun with it. Serious Ford guys DO NOT LOOK. I repeat do NOT LOOK AT this website!
