Halloween Hauler: 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse

Halloween is coming up, and surely there can’t be anything more fun than tooling around in a black-lit hearse listening to creepy Halloween tunes. Besides, who doesn’t love a good hearse? Not only would this be a great vehicle for the orange and black holiday season, this would be the perfect combination of utility and novelty. Don’t believe me? It is much easier to load appliances with rollers in the trunk, and nothing will get you more funny looks than carrying a washer and dryer in the back of an old hearse. Morbid as they may be, hearses tend to attract a crowd and can be lots of fun when in the right hands. Find this 1970 Cadillac here on eBay in Wisconsin with a $5,500 asking price. Thanks to Matt W. for sending it in!

The seller purchased this car in 2014, and it has been stored in a heated garage. It looks like the seller was intending to restore it, but has decided to pass it on to someone else. The following parts have been repaired or replaced: headliner, rear glass, steering column, and dash board. Per the ad, this Cadillac “includes factory air conditioning, power seat, leather seats, 3 way side lower with moving casket table, and side to side hydraulic load leveling system.” I’m not an expert on hearses, but this sounds like a pretty loaded model! This car was equipped to move “clients” with ease and style, and as long as you don’t think about how many “clients” it may have moved over the years, driving it alone at night won’t be too spooky. If spooky is your thing, go ahead and assume this hearse saw extremely heavy use. After all, it does have 96,039 miles on it which is pretty high for a hearse.

Originally, this Cadillac was painted blue with blue interior. As with all hearses (and limousines) this is a coach-built vehicle meaning it was not mass-produced in a factory like your average car, rather it was modified by a third party later on to be able to function a certain way. Equipped with a Cadillac 472 cubic inch V8, this car was very capable of its intended hauling. Every time Halloween begins to loom in the distance, I think about how much fun it would be to have a hearse! Would you restore this Cadillac to original, or customize it to give onlookers a fright?

This car is way over priced for it’s condition.

The whole interior has been ripped out of it.

The trim pieces on the outside are not there.

It needs paint, which will be very expensive.

There isn’t much left to make it worth the kind of money this guy is asking.

Yea, but look at front view with that big windscreen. Paint evil clowns on it, and go camping. I’m sure that sliding tray was built to move large clients too. A house painter sure could use this “wagon”

3 way side loader not lower. Just nitpicking. Had a 76, would love this older version.

There is no comparison between the 375HP 472 in this one compared to the 150HP 500 in the ’76.

I have the opportunity to buy both right now.

One is a 1970 Superior Crown Royal combination in beautiful condition for around this price or a little lower, with factory air and he also has a 1975 Superior. I am not sure of the model as I don’t have many pictures right now.

The 1970 I am looking forward to driving, but not so much the 1975 for the lack of power with the same gas mileage.
