1971 Honda N600: Three For $2K

hondan600

The best thing about microcars might be the ability to store mass amounts of parts and cars in a normal-sized garage! That’s what the seller of 3 incomplete Honda N600 projects has done, and his collection of cars and parts is up for grabs here on craigslist for a mere $1,900. Two of the three cars have clean titles, and the third title-less N600 is considered a donor car for the others. As you can see in the photos, there are plenty of spare parts along with with the necessary body panels that have been stripped off so the cars could go in for bodywork and paint. Some of these early U.S. market Hondas have sold for good money, so this could be a decent deal either for completing the projects and selling them off or simply building 2 decent examples for yourself. How would you handle this microcar garage sale?

I bought 2 of these for 1200.00 in ’81 or ’82 when I was stationed at Dyess AFB.
I drove it back and forth to Dallas, as long as it lasted. The timing chain ate through the block. I got a new block from American Honda for $75.00!

I had one of these turds. I loved it but you would need that many spare parts to keep it running!

My friend worked at a Chevy dealer who began to sell Hondas in 1972. I test drove a Z600. Price out the door with tax would have been $1967. I bought a V6 Capri instead.
I year later a bought a used Z600. My wife loved it. Parts were dirt cheap from the dealer. I replaced a battery and an exhaust system. The exhaust came as one piece from manifold to tail. My friend had one, and his brother wanted mine. I Had it 2 years and sold it at a profit.

What would I do? Drop one on a tube frame, install a crate 350 with all the trimmings and go straight line driving in 1/4 mile increments. What a blast that would be. then take the other two and make a fun driver.
