This 1973 Corvette certainly isn’t the most desirable C3 variant, having the L48 lower horsepower V-8, although with air conditioning, power steering and power brakes it has some nice features. This one is in Riverside, California and is for sale here on eBay at an opening bid of $5,000 and no reserve.
As you can see, it needs a lot. The seller says it has no rust underneath, but it’s been stationary in their garage for 12 years. The halfshafts are disconnected because there was difficulty getting the car out of park. The engine used to run and the ad states it would now, but the car was taken off the road when the radiator failed and the transmission fluid and antifreeze mixed. Yes, that’s right, this one has an automatic. But it’s still a Corvette, the fantastic plastic sports car, and it’s at a great price. Maybe you could turn it into something beautiful?
Back in 73, Corvette was only a name, it was heavily smogged, sluggish, and, was pricey . It might be nice for nostalgia’s sake, but later ( younger) Vettes are a lot better . Somebody will probably bring it back, but this one, I’d pass on
This looks like a good opportunity for someone with a bit of cash and a love of Vetts’. Unfortunately that’s not me I prefer the Stingray with the sloping fastback roof and dual rear windows, slightly earlier I think it was based on a C2
Nothing a LS2 with a 6-speed can’t fix. Its been done before and can be done again.
I bought a 73 several years ago for $1500. Most folks don’t like this year but I do. You have the 68-72 rear with the new front clip.
