1991 Ford F-250 With 22k Original Miles!

There is something strangely appealing with a truck like this Ford F-250. Ford didn’t change much to the basic design of their mid-sized truck line, they simply improved the mechanical systems and updated the interiors. This 1991 looks much like the F-250s being built all the way back in 1979, but with just 22,000 miles on the odometer, it is still like new. It would be comfortable to drive, the 460 V8 should be dependable for years to come and it sure looks great! Bidding has already climbed to over $7,300 with reserve unmet. You can take a closer look at it here on eBay in Delaware, Ohio.

I know when we see vehicles built in the ’90s, it doesn’t seem that long ago, but this truck was built 26 years ago! And being a truck, it’s amazing it wasn’t driven hard and put away wet, most were. The exterior looks fantastic, with nice shiny paint. It has a plastic bed liner currently installed, so we can’t see what the bed looks like. I’ve seen trucks with these plastic liners installed with beds that are like new and others that the liner trapped moisture and caused serious rust, so I would want to have a look under it.

We also don’t get any photos of the engine, but the seller claims it runs great and averages 13 miles per gallon. That isn’t great mileage, but consider it’s a 460 V8 with 390 pounds of torque, it could definitely be worse. The seller did a little work to the A/C system and claims it blows cold, which should come in handy when you are working on those summer projects! Everything is claimed to work, which isn’t much of a surprise if the mileage really is accurate.

It will definitely be interesting to see where bidding goes with this one. Trucks are definitely popular right now, especially clean low mileage survivors. Typically, it’s the older rigs with unusual features that fetch the big money, but I could see this one going for $10k given how clean it is. When was the last time you spotted an F-250 that wasn’t worn out and tired looking? This is one of the cleanest examples I’ve seen a long time and if I were in the market for a truck, I would be a serious bidder. How about you?

14 miles to the gallon? I have to throw the B.S. flag on that one. I owned a new 1991 with the same motor and it got between 8~10.
    Nice looking truck though.

I once had one too. Nice truck but the only way it gets that mileage is straight down hill with the wind pushing you!.

      Nice rig otherwise.

      I always have a hard time keeping a straight face,when a guy
tells you how his ’78 Toyota pickup, towing a fully loaded 30 foot –
trailer got 45mpg,while driving through the mountains.
At least this one doesn’t stretch it quite that far.

Beautiful example of the breed. You just don’t see any like this anymore. I’d always be suspicious of rust because of Ohio though.

Hey guys, that video ad that you have on the site breaks the page. It snaps the page to it and won’t let you scroll till it’s done with it’s ad. Might just be my browser, but figured you should be aware.

As to this truck, man, I haven’t seen one that clean in a very long time. Not bad trucks, my father still drags a trailer around with one.

As a life long Ford truck owner this would be a nice second vehicle for a home owner, the only thing I would do is throw those running boards in the trash, never liked them, at least the step bars on my 2016 F-150 quad cab 4×4 look tasteful.

Back in the 80’s when I was selling cars, we sold this fellow a used 18ft cube van. He already had an older model for his milk route. He came back to the dealership 3 or 4 times complaining about the fuel economy. The service department did a full time up, plugs, fuel filter and air filter. The fellow still came back the next week complaining. Then they finally told him that 8-10 mpg is all that a 460 can get. The poor guy almost messed up his pants. He thought that it had a 351 in it like his old van!!!

Nice truck, but I’d rather have the G body in the garage.

I’m glad it has “original miles” and not those bogus “unoriginal miles.”

Had an 88 F250 four wheel drive with manual transmission and a 4.9 engine. Loved the look of the truck and nice rock crawling tires.

But man – that truck gave me more electrical problems than ANY other British car I had or for that matter any other vehicle I or my family had.

Must have just been one of those lemons because no other owners of that year model that I spoke to had electrical problems like that.

Very – Very – Strong Truck. No nonsense – too bad of my issues though…

I don’t understand how these folks can list a vehicle and not provide pictures of the motor….unreal

As a testament as to how tough these trucks are, the farm I live at has this same truck, only a 351, as his “plow truck”. It still looks somewhat presentable, but VERY tired. ( that’s why it became a plow truck) Had a bad rear main seal ( which the guy is getting fixed) and we’d go through 2 gallons of oil in a 1/2 hour plow session. None of the gauges work, all the warning lights are on, it’s stuck in 4 wheel H, but let me tell you, last winter, when it was 25 below ( without windchill), even in it’s dilapidated form, it was the only thing that started. Of course they got dismal mileage, but they were trucks, not Kia’s, and that was the cost of doing work. Nice find.

A late ’90’s Dodge Ram 3500 with the Cummins puts these Fords to shame. The Fords ride so R O U G H and turning radius is awful. And the MPG… If I were spending 10 Grand, a nice Ram is where my money would go.

My 6.0 GMC Sierra Denali gets about 15-16 on the highway. Could a Ford 460 really match that? I just don’t know, no sarcasm attempted here, but maybe they mean downhill w/ a tailwind…

    I bought this truck!

It’s pretty much as described. Engine bay is pretty clean, but will need some minor cleaning. Have to sort out a few minor items…the passenger side door not locking and the windshield washer not working. Everything else functions perfectly. The A/C blows ice cold. The truck even has 4 brand new tires, new plugs, wire and distributor.

Haven’t driven it enough to get a accurate MPG estimate. Runs and drives well. Underbody and frame are clean and rust free. Very solid Truck.

I think that eventually the farmer-style running boards are going to come off as well as the aftermarket fog light. Just going to live with it for awhile and use it to haul stuff occasionally. Headed to the landscape supply yard tonight to pick up a 1/2 ton of landscape rock.
