31k Mile 1970 Plymouth Satellite Survivor

1970 Plymouth Satellite

We wouldn’t normally get very excited about a four-door Plymouth, but this one is a little different. It has supposedly sat in a barn since 1980 and is all original. The interior and paint look to be in excellent condition and the odometer is only showing 31,000 miles! The seller has already done the work to get it running again so you don’t have to bother with that. A new fuel tank, battery, tires, and fluids went in and the exterior has been buffed out. It’s located in Swanton, Ohio and is listed here on eBay. The only problem is that the seller thinks it could be worth five figures! I also spotted some rust starting to form here and there. So, depending on where the reserve is set, this might or might not be a good buy. What do you think?

Good candidate for a big block swap.

Make a great cop car clone, although, the inside is a little fancy for a cop car. Clearly, not 131 grand, and I know Florida’s air can be very corrosive, so I think this is the real deal. Pretty generic looking car, but again, this was 1970.

Howard, had the same thought. Stuff a modern performance V8 in it, widen the wheels to add some better rubber and maybe upgrade the suspension and you have a great sleeper. That only works if the reserve is reasonable.

The underhood area and the area around the decklid look a little rough for such low miles; however the interior is fantastic! Having said that, a 318 c.i. non A/C car, brings to mind the question..just how much are low miles worth on such a “plain jane”, non special vehicle? Personally, I would not want to spend anymore than 5K, and then I would swap on a set of magnums, roll down all the windows, push out the vent windows and RIDE!!! :-)

I guess the little old lady didn’t like the deluxe hub caps she ordered(window sticker), and swapped them out for dog dish style.

still in the daily driver price range but it has more then 5 days to go and a reserve. looks like no shoulder belts ( or are they tucked up out of the way ) and i do not know how easy it would be to add them. great find.

Shoulder belts were standard equipment from 1968. So, if they were removed, the mountings should still be there.

Listen . . . I love this site for the comments. Like espying the “deluxe hubcaps” vs. what’s on the machine now. Great stuff, guys. Great stuff.

Back in the early 90’s, my brother bought a ’70 Coronet 4 door in this same condition for $1000. The thing was immaculate and living in New England, must have hardly ever been driven in the winter – a true avocado colored little old ladies car.
Same 318 automatic and it was a great time warp machine to cruise around in.

It dropped the timing chain and he had a truck come and haul it to the junkyard instead of fixing it.

There was lady that owned a little bookstore, when I was in my early teens that had pee yellow one. Hers had the deluxe hubcaps, and a 383. This is a great car for someone. To bad it isn’t me.
