Super Clean 4×4: 39k Mile 1985 Chevrolet K20

This 1985 Chevrolet Silverado K20 4×4 pickup is an impressive one-family owned survivor. It shows just under 40,000 original miles and has excellent cosmetics, not to mention a long list of factory options. The seller notes it just needed nominal sorting to be fully prepped for road-going use and that the truck shows no signs of rust. It has remained in the same Spokane neighborhood not far from where it was purchased new all its life. Find the Chevy here on eBay with bids to over $15K and no reserve.

A no reserve auction for a truck like this is a great opportunity for anyone hunting for a 3/4 ton example with no visible faults of the cosmetic or mechanical kind. The Chevy really is fully loaded, with full power options, cruise control, AM/FM cassette, air conditioning, and three-speed automatic transmission. The bench seats appears to be in perfect condition, and the door panels present quite well – even the map storage pockets aren’t sagging all that much.

The 5.7L 350 V8 is said to run well, and of course, this is the sort of engine you can have serviced practically anywhere. The seller notes that he gave the truck a “tune-up” and also changed all fluids and bled the brakes. If it’s been maintained by the original family owner since new, there’s not too much else I can see it needing. The climate in Spokane is extremely favorable to keeping a truck like this in good shape, especially one that has been garaged since new.

The matching bed cap gives you an idea as to how detail-oriented the original owners were, given there were not one but two colors to coordinate. The seller claims the bed was never used and that the bed cap has been on there since day one, so it’s effectively in as nice of condition as the outside, if not better. The polished wheels still shine like new, and there’s really not much here to fault – a great truck listed with no reserve is tough to beat.

I love it! Wish it were mine!

Jeff, I don’t know a whole lot about these old trucks, but I’m pretty sure that it says “Silverado” on that quarter panel, there.

Who cares? What an awesome ride!

It’s both. K-20 = 4wd 3/4 ton. Silverado = top trim level. Velour seats, carpets, power windows, about as plush as trucks got in the ’80s.

I would buy this, put a slide in camper on the back, retire from my job, and head out west and become a full-timer. Hard to find a mint 20 Series, for sure.

Nice truck for sure. We sold lots of them before the dealership closed down. Go a long way to find one in this good a shape. I sure wouldn’t turn it down if it came to my place. A true smogger, one of the first things I would do is perform an environmentally unapproved tuneup that would make it run a lot better. These were among the last carbureted trucks before the TBI fuel injection took over. The latter was a vast improvement…

Paint the entire cap red to do away with the white insert. Just seems to take away from the overall look of the truck.
