Would This Fulvia Fulfill Your Wishes?

l1

An unusual sight even in Italy, this great-looking 1967 Lancia Fulvia 1.3 has obviously been owned by an enthusiast who got the car running and driving again four years ago after a storage period. The listing here on eBay contains both the good and the bad, with pictures of each. It’s located in Southampton, New York. While the buy-it-now price is a steep $12,500, there aren’t many of these to choose from and note that the seller is interested in lower offers. Note: this sold less than an hour after being listed on eBay for a best offer, so maybe I was wrong about the price being steep!

I have loved the airy greenhouse area of these cars since the first time I saw one. The pillars are so small! With an unusual narrow-angle small displacement V4 (not a typo) and front-wheel drive, from all accounts this little cars deliver a sporting experience far beyond expectations. While the seller states that there is rust in the right subframe and wheel wells, in addition to the bubbling in the quarter panels, the car presents itself well even now and certainly seems worth spending the time and effort to repair the corrosion.

Here’s a closeup of some of the underbody issues. I’m wondering if this has been previously repaired? If not, the Lancia welders were even worse that the BL ones, and I didn’t think that was possible! Kudos to the seller for including detail pictures like this one.

The seller mentions spending over four hours at a time in comfort in the seats during road rallyes. They certainly look inviting, and the interior as a whole looks to be in top notch shape. Even the padded dash is uncracked! Given the general lack of wear, I can believe the 73,890 miles stated in the ad as accurate. We’ve posted about Fulvias before, but never on one in as nice shape–most seem to be complete rust buckets–unfortunately typical for Italian cars of this age.

Like the rest of the car, the diminutive V4 looks to be in nice driver shape, with twin side-draft Webers providing the fuel and air. I hope a Lancia enthusiast gets to buy their dream car and is able to eradicate the rust in short order. Could it be you?

I love everything about this one… Except for the fact that it sold so quickly!

These Fulvias are in great demand in Europe, especially Italy as you would expect, so I think if many people there saw this listing it would not be long before it was sold. Strange that the seller was willing to ship to the UK and Australia in addition to No America, but did not list Europe, where demand would be highest for this LHD car.

Anyway, the underside metal work would be well worth doing on the car, which looks like it does actually have only the claimed 74K miles. These Lancias were far ahead of their time technically, and drive beautifully. The little V4 has two twin throat carbs and is fairly highly tuned. For an offer below the $12.5K ask the buyer got a good deal.

One of the many great things about driving a Lancia in the U.S. is that you will be the only one with a Lancia at the next Cars & Coffee event!
Besides my own, the last time ever I saw a Lancia in person was 4 or 5 years ago. And the getting parts for them is equally rare! Lol.

I have spent many summers in Italy, starting as a young teen. Along with base 316-320 BMW’s, these Lancias were the cars that the super cool young Italians were driving in the mid to late 70’s. Liked them then, like them now. No wonder it sold in an hour.

This was a giveaway price. Hence a quick sale. Had I stumbled across this ad in time, it would be on its way to California
