Another One: 1967 International 4X4 Ambulance

2nd '67 IH ambulance

We just featured one of these 4×4 Ambulances, but were surprised to find another here on craigslist. It’s located in  Abilene, Texas and is parked in Leesburg, Georgia. The seller is asking $2,500 so it will be interesting to see which one ends up being the better deal!

This unit is also powered by a straight 6, with a 4X4 drive train.

The seller says this one was only used for Air Force and Navy personnel and there are only 9,520.8 miles on the truck.

The interior looks original.

2nd '67 IH ambulance front

There are not any images of the rear, the right side, the under carriage, on inside the rear of the truck.  The seller says there is some rust, the truck needs paint and  someone who can make this monster there own”.  There is no mention of whether the truck can be driven of it the engine spins.  Chuck is selling because he doesn’t have the money to make the truck “look like it should”.  The title status is “missing” though.  If you are interested please contact the seller with your requests, if you have any, for additional images or any questions you may have.

Motor-on,
Robert

Are we sure these were ambulances? They just look like milk delivery trucks to me. Yet it’s doubtful any milk trucks were ever 4×4, so I suppose they were.

Hi z1, fred posted a pic of these in army colors on the last thread. Most saw service in Viet Nam. I highly doubt this had A/C originally. A/C was more of a “Desert Storm” thing. And I agree with RON, these may not have had all the bells and whistles of a modern ambulance, but if injured, this was your ticket out of that heck-hole.

Yes it is a international harvester version of non tactical ambulance often seen on flight lines and around bases. I have two dodge W-200’s and they look the same

bet all the viet nam guys know what they were they had to climb everything to include trees there. were not built for comfort or pretty but were beautiful when you were bleeding out and wanting to get to somewhere to stop the blood. i don’t know if the compressor under the hood was for a.c. or medical equipment. probably the latter. not uch ac in the jungles

“Their” own. And is it in Abilene or Leesburg? It simply cannot be “located” in one place and “parked” in another. That makes no sense. Words mean things… I don’t know if it has any value, it isn’t for me. But it isn’t located in two different states, and if it is, the price should reflect that…

I had written “Listed here on craigslist Abilene, Texas and parked in Leesburg…”

This post was edited by someone at a higher pay grade. Sorry for that typo.

Maybe if the owner sits on it for about ten years. The 2nd generation Camaros are just seeing some appreciation in value and this one will be worth more when the market catches up, but 33,900 is still a lot of money for one of these.

The ad I read says 2500.$ sounds reasonable enough
