BF AUCTION: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS Convertible

Bid to: $12,200View Result

This find is definitely a big project, but if you are going to take on a project, this is the kind of find you want! Not only is it a desirable model, a 1967 Camaro, but it’s also a rare combination of options. It left the factory with the SS 350 option, the RS trim package, and is a convertible! Talk about a great combo. Fully restored, you will have a desirable car that is also a blast to drive. So, if you are in the market for a Camaro Convertible SS/RS, here is your chance to buy one. It’s currently located in Cape Coral, Florida and you can bid on it below! And if you would like to view the car in person, contact email us here to schedule a viewing.

According to price guides, having the RS option on an SS adds as much as 25% to the value of the car. We usually take these price adjustments with a grain of salt, but looking at recently sold cars, there’s definitely a difference in value between cars with it and those without. What really makes this one stand out and worth restoring is the fact that it’s also a convertible. A quick look at what’s currently for sale and you won’t find many SS/RS equipped convertibles.

The seller’s Father-In-Law purchased this Camaro from an older woman as a gift to his wife. After getting it home, his wife realized it was just too much of a project for her to tackle. So they decided to give it to the seller, who had hopes of restoring it. After sitting in their garage for a few years, they recently made the move from New York to Florida, and while the car came with, they’ve realized they lack the time and equipment to restore it.

First-year Camaros were offered with a number of engines, ranging from an inline-six up to the big 396 V8. If you selected the SS option you could have it with either the 350 or the 396 V8. This one came with the 295 horsepower 350 V8, which is plenty of engine for some drop-top fun! The seller believes it’s the car’s original engine.

It’s definitely going to require a full restoration, but much like the Mustang that it competed with, parts are readily available and relatively cheap. This looks like a great winter project that will definitely be worth the work! So, be sure to let us know if you have any questions about the car and leave your high bid below.

Looks better than anticipated . The engine looks like it might actually run….
The top is a easy install with new pads….
Put it on with a hot day to stretch or in a garage with a turbo ket looking kerosene heater wearing shorts as you want 80s.
Its an automatic but livable ….😉

This could cheap but needed a pix of floor pans, trunk side trays etc…

Looking at the right rear fender, and the left rear inner there is going to be that hidden rust. Maybe a new sheet metal assembly welded and bolted to the firewall?

Did you know the 350 came out in 1967, and was only available in the Camaro SS? Better hope it’s the original engine.
I bought a 68 convertible once, found out it had a front clip from a 67 SS/RS, the hidden headlight system was changed from electric to vacuum in 68.

Yes, a red Camaro that is both SS and RS is worth restoring. But it is not going to be an inexpensive undertaking to do it correctly.

Does the engine turn by hand ? Would you pull up that junk carpet so we can see the floorboard?. Are all the hiding headlamp parts there? Please show the frame from underneath. Is there any structural rot?
