BF Auction: 1967 Ford F250

Sold For: $1,800

We love classic trucks here at Barn Finds. They are loaded with practicality while being stylish and fun to cruise in. We especially love unrestored examples, as most trucks lived hard lives from day one. This 1967 Ford F250 is being offered by the original’s son and while it has a replacement engine, it’s wearing its original paint and patina. It’s currently equipped with a 390 V8 and has been a great truck for the seller’s family, but it’s time to find a new home for it. If you’d love to have it, you can find it in Federal Way, Washington and be sure to bid below.

The fifth generation of Ford’s F-Series trucks was a substantial update over the previous generation and introduced a wide range of trim and engine options. Being an F250 means this truck was rated at 3/4 tons and was well suited for street use or farm duty. When the seller’s father purchased it, it was equipped with the 352 cui V8, which was rated at 208 horsepower and was supplanted by the 360 in ’68. The 390 was also introduced in ’68 and was rated at up to 255 horsepower. While it isn’t the correct engine for this truck, it is a welcome upgrade for those that want some extra performance. The seller states that the engine was swapped around the 80,000-mile mark, so the 390 has covered about 90,000 miles. It’s currently equipped with an Edlebrock Performer Manifold and a Holly four-barrel carburetor that has a sticky float valve.

The inside of this truck is presentable as is, although it could use some work. It’s currently wearing a saddle blanket seat cover and we don’t get a good look at the original upholstery. Chances are it will need a new cover, but replacements are readily available. It’s also currently equipped with an aftermarket stereo, but the original radio is still with the truck and included. The topper that is currently installed on the bed is also included with the truck and appears to be in great shape. Personally, we would detail the interior, install a new dash cap, reinstall the original radio, leave the saddle seat cover, and just use the interior as is.

The seller notes that the truck has never been in any accidents, but there are a few dents. There’s lots of surface rust, but there doesn’t appear to be any serious issues at this point in time. The cab corners appear to be in solid shape, which is a common problem area, and While the patina look is fascinating, this truck really deserves to be treated to a proper paint job to ensure the rust doesn’t turn into an issue.

You rarely come across a classic truck still with its original owner or, in this case, their family. The fact that this truck has been kept by the family and is still on the road 55 years later tells you that it’s been loved and cared for. Whether you are looking for a classic truck to restore or just a good old cruiser to enjoy as is, this one looks like a great option! So be sure to take a closer look and don’t forget to bid below.

Check the cab mounts for rot. DA this baby and mop a single stage paint job on her and cruise! These were fabulous trucks , but the salt ate em alive here in the rust belt. Good luck and happy motoring, That 390 makes a great mill for this ol workhorse.

Don’t touch the paint, mother nature did an amazing job already. I have a surefire way to stop the rust . . . park it inside a garage.

Good honest work truck. Only Thing I’d do is clean up the interior, put the camper shell on craigslist and keep it in service as a lumber yard/junk yard/car pickerupper truck
