BF AUCTION: 1975 Pontiac Trans Am Project

Bid to: $1,355View Result

This Trans Am was in the middle of a restoration when the current owner acquired it. There’s still a lot of work left to do, but the 400 V8 and 4-speed transmission should make it all worthwhile! This is a Barn Finds auction so be sure to register as a bidder if you think you have what it takes to finish this project.

The t-handle has gotta go! Seeing a four on the floor in this era of Firebird is a rare and welcomed sight. The missing door panel and wires hanging out from under the dash are not. Don’t worry about the seats though, they are sitting on the roof and trunk!

Looks like someone made a few modifications here. Well, we can only see the MSD ignition and Mickey Thompson valve covers so we don’t know if anything was done beyond that. Did you know that a chrome air cleaner can make you go faster?

The original Sterling Silver over black color combo sure would look handsome. Hopefully, the next owner will have the resources and knowledge to get this one back on the road. Heck, I’d be tempted to put the car back together and see if I could get it running before dumping a bunch of money into a paint job. Either way, be sure to look at the photo gallery here and place your bids below.

My ‘76 was silver over black automatic. Loved that car, wish mine had been a 4-speed. Great classic cars, hopefully someone will purchase (for the right price) and get it back on the road.

Looks like a 1976 based upon the rear bumper. Is there a photo of the front end and the engine compartment?

In the Spring of 1969, my new wife and I, who had just moved to Santa Barbara, Decided to sell our ’63 VW delivery van, converted to a camper, by me, and get a “new” car.

We looked (and drove) an AMC Pacer, a Vega, and a 1968 Firebird 400 convertible in Sunburst Orange with a 4 speed. I walked away because it pushed (understeered) REALLY bad. I had been driving a Speedster, as well as the bus. Oh well…
