Bullitt Bad Guy: 1968 Dodge Charger R/T

1968-charger-rt

Normally I would advise people to stay away from project cars that are rusty and missing important components like their engines. But, when something like this 1968 Dodge Charger R/T shows up, it can be tempting to break all the rules. The R/T on the trunk and grill stood for Road/Track and that meant it was equipped with some special parts in order to make it a better performer. In this Charger’s case that meant Dodge’s 440 cubic inch V8 came standard as well as uprated suspension and brakes. It was ready for some serious track time or at least some stoplight drag racing. This particular car is going to need a lot of help before you are going to be recreating any scenes from Bullitt, but it might be worth the time and money. Take a look here on eBay and let us know what you think.

Nothing special here. Nice car when fixed but these car cost a fortune to restore. You would be well backwards after its finished.

“Glass was cracked and foggy so we took the glass out” So, now the car sits out in the weather w/ NO protection?!? I just don’t understand the rationale, if it is going to need a complete restoration, the glass should have been left in. I agree w/ MH. At least it is in better shape than this eBay ’69 shown above, listed here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Charger-SE-/171727799390

If the bodyshell of this 1969 could be salvaged and worked on, it would be a perfect candidate for an Art Morrison chassis installation.

Wow, that is a sad sight. These cars have been sought after for years, why would you let it sit in the woods for nearly four decades!

These two, even as bad as they are, are better than the two 70’s I know of. Lol. I like these cars along with the other b bodies. Shame someone would let them get this bad.
