Calling All Barn Finders

Seeking Barn Finds

There are just too many great finds for us to keep up with everyday, so we are looking to add a few contributors to the Barn Finds team. If you think you have what it takes to find and report on the best discoveries, we want to hear from you. You don’t have to be a professional, you just need to have a passion for old cars. Here’s how to apply:

1. Dig up at least two cars listed for sale somewhere online and write up sample posts. Try to follow the format of past features here on the site and be sure to make them interesting. Don’t worry, we will not use your posts unless we end up hiring you. This is just a way for us to see what type of work you can do.

2. Write a short paragraph about yourself and your experience with the automobile. Tell us why you think you should be part of the team. Include any writing experience and automotive expertise.

3. Construct a sentence about what you think Barn Finds is all about. There is no wrong answer here, it just gives us idea if our visions line up.

4. Determine how many hours per week you are willing to dedicate to the task. Remember that each post takes at least an hour to do research and write up, so be realistic.

5. Email it all to us.

This is a paid position and compensation will depend on what you can bring to the site. The application deadline is March 4, 2012 and we will make a final decision some time next week. Remember that if you don’t end up getting the job or would rather not write, we still need your submissions.

We have updated the application requirements above to try to clear up confusion about what should be included in the two write-ups. We are looking for actual posts, not just links to cars. You can write them in Word or right in your email. Hope that helps. Thanks.

Love reading about all the interesting discoveries in the US, but sadly I am situated in SOUTH AFRICA and I don’t see many features from our side of the world! I would love to work for you guys……but would it work? Been collecting since the age of 13, and have had more cars than I can remember, and continually sniff out more.I have extensive knowledge of mainly English and European cars, with a vast book collection for reference purposes. I like to think of myself as an automobile historian in a small way. Would you be interested in the African perespective? My contact details are as follows +27 12 3441720 Fax/landline or +27 83 6127167 mobile
