Do You Have The Time For This F1?

'52 F1

We see it all too often, people acquire a project with dreams of restoring it, but after years of no progress, they realize they just don’t have the time to finish it. That’s the case with this 1952 Ford F1 that’s been listed here on craigslist in Myerstown, Pennsylvania with an asking of $5,000.  The owner says that this truck was in a barn since the ’70s.  The owner pulled it out of the barn 2 years ago. They are now selling off some projects, because they outnumber his life span. Those are his wording not ours!

The owner claims the truck is very solid and straight. The bed floor is gone and there are some missing pieces. There is a Chevy 350 V8 and a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission included with this project.

There is no engine currently in the truck. We are not sure where the flat head V8 is currently at or it and the 3 speed gearboxes condition. It sounds like you do get the original V8 in the deal with the 350. As a matter of fact the seller states if you buy the truck the engines go with it no matter what, they don’t have any use for them and just wants both engines gone.

Here’s the dash and the “new” headers, plus a few other parts.

There are not many images of this project. We don’t see the bench seat, and there is no images of the bed, rear and/or sides of the truck. The owner is not taking offers without the buyer (you?) seeing the truck in person with cash in hand. He is willing to trade for ’50s-’70s American cars, drum roll… mainly Mopars. Is this worth a look if you are in the neighborhood?

Motor-on,
Robert

Priced way too high for what it is. I have a 1950 F1 I’ve been trying to sell. it’s restored and is a daily driver. I’m having trouble getting much more than this asking price for it, which is why I still have it

If seller includes the Coyote engine and gearbox to go with it…then a decent price.

I went to high school with a guy who restored one of these, he painted it olive green with black fenders and running boards, what a beautiful truck it was. That was back in the 70’s no idea where he or the truck is know.

If the truck is otherwise complete, it isn’t far off the mark. You could easily sell the SBC/tranny to help finance the restoration.
