Eddie Bauer Survivor: 1994 Ford Bronco

In the world of Ford trucks, the Eddie Bauer edition signals that’s a top-shelf model loaded up with all the luxury features the company could throw at it in the early 90s. It’s also a reminder of what a big deal Eddie Bauer used to be that they were getting their name plastered on the top sellers in Ford’s truck lineup. Today, they are typically hard to find in good shape, as many were used extensively for gentle off-road excursions and family hauling, but this clean 1994 Ford Bronco bucks that trend with just 47,945 miles on the clock. It’s listed here on eBay as a California survivor with bidding at $22,601 and no reserve.

The Bronco is now located in Orlando, Florida, after being removed from the original longtime owner’s collection. The seller notes the owner was an older gentleman who treated the Bronco like a museum exhibit, keeping every internal surface covered and obviously not driving it much in the time he owned it. The paint remains original with no history or evidence of accidents or repaints, and the chrome and polished pieces obviously still shine like new. The Eddie Bauers typically featured the two-tone paint you see here, almost always with a tan lower portion and coordinating elements like the spare tire cover and the roof.

The seller notes that the previous owner kept the seats, dashboard, cargo area, and carpets all covered with towels, and that is abundantly clear based on the pictures. The carpets show no signs of soiling and the seats present as-new. The mileage may be low, but a lot can still go wrong in just under 50,000 miles, so the previous owner was clearly as careful as the seller claims. The seller notes it was never smoked in and that the Bronco comes with the impossible-to-find rear cargo cover. The headliner and steering wheel are also said to be in excellent condition with no cosmetic flaws to report.

Mechanically, there are no issues to reports, with nary a leak or a split hose in sight. The listing claims four wheel drive and the automatic transmission engage and work as they should, and the underhood detailing is certainly impressive. The rubber suspension components reportedly show no signs of cracking and the tires are nearly new. Overall, Broncos have been on a tear value-wise for sometime, so it’s not surprising to see the bidding activity at the moment; what remains to be seen is whether rougher examples begin to emerge from cheap truck territory into expensive projects as the supply of good ones like this dries up.

I always thought the Eddie Bauer trim packages were attractive and well-done. This Bronco is very very nice. Not surprisingly the bidding is strong and I’m curious to see where it lands. Like Jeff says, I wonder how far we are from seeing rough ones start to command bigger prices (like we have seen on the first gen Broncos for some time).

These were always very nice. I remember when I worked for GM I always thought the Bronco had an edge over the Blazer/Yukon in styling. However, after owning a Bronco myself, the Bronco lost its advantage on the servicing side. They weren’t bad but let’s just say that switching a transmission was a lot less involved on the GM products. An SBC was a lot easier to work on than a 351W. I had a lot of dashes apart in GM trucks and when I had to take the one out of my Bronco it was a major operation. However, the Bronco was just as reliable, just as economical (my ‘85 Bronco with 351 actually got better fuel economy than my ‘79 GMC) and performed just as well as any of my GM products. I wouldn’t turn this one down. But you could bet that it would get well used…

Reminds me of the old joke about a lady that bought a used Bronco and called up Ford Motor Co complaining that the previous owner had plastered his name all over the vehicle and how could she have them removed.

When Ford asked her the name of the previous owner she replied “Eddie Bauer”.

Listing is over due to an “error in the listing”

Amazing how often those “errors” happen when an item gets a lot of attention.

It often means the car was sold off of eBay, nothing more.

So…. I’ve got a 96 Eddie Bower. It’s been a great car, the best I’ve ever owned. The clock on mine is at about 185+, and it has had zero issues. As I said, best I’ve ever had. And, mine is also a CA, rust-free, no collision, pristine body and paint. So, with the current Bronco pricing, How would I price my hi-mile, but otherwise excellent, Bronco?

It depends on whether you are trying to sell into your local or national market. If you are planning on selling it locally, unless you live in LA or possibly San Francisco figure you will get less than half. If you plan on selling on a national platform such as eBay, do your research and put it up for auction with a reserve set at the minimum you would be willing to accept. Don’t forget to have it detailed, like this one, since presentation matters. Then take lots of detailed pictures and write a well thought out and structured ad, that will make a big difference in the end price.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a mid 90’s Eddie Bauer Bronco with 1, cloth seats 2, manual shift transfer case and hubs, and 3, such nice original condition.

A.J. – I agree – this one is an interesting spec truck. It has auto hubs but the manual t-case shifter is a welcome, and unusual choice.
