El Cadimino: 1964 Cadillac Flower Car

1964 Cadillac Flower Car

It may seem a little morbid, but I think this old flower car would look good done up as a work truck. Junk all the funeral specific stuff and this thing could almost pass as a El Cadimino! You may have to change the color too, but just think how entertaining it would be to show up at Home Depot with this rig. The current high bid may prevent it from experiencing my vision, but you never know. It’s located in Bloomsbury, New Jersey and is listed here on eBay with the reserve met and only a couple of days left. Thanks goes to Charles H for the tip!

Side Door

I’d want to loose all that metal on top of the bed and change the pillar treatment to make this truck look a little less creepy. This puppy even has a side door like a Rampside so it might be even more functional than a real El Camino. We all know it would be more comfortable. I’m sure a funeral car collector will pick this up and preserve it and that’s fine, but I think my plan would be more fun. Do you think I’m totally crazy?

It would be interesting to know the history, did it cater to any well known funerals etc.

I don’t think you are crazy Jesse. I was almost thinking an open air Cadillac roadster, but it would be a ton of work.

Strange one of the pics on EBay is of a 1959 Cadillac flower car in front of the same garage

Good catch….why does the one picture have fins but the others don’t(that I can see)?

He is showing off his other restoration, that is not for sale. I picked it up in his ad.

Too original and cool to butcher. Remove the metal flower car apparatus, store and drive…whooping it up, And stay away from the” hearse owning jerks”….. Looks like there is a philosophical schism in the Professional Car Societies!

Reminds me of the El Cadimino in The Blues Brothers driven by Cab Callaway.

Is this the same Birdman of the Carolinas and Oklahoma–former owner of a hearse and a ’57 Panhead with the vertical, sequential T-Bird taillight?

I’m guessing LMC isn’t going to be able to help out too much with parts for this one…

A coupe de fleur is rare on its own cut one up and I’m sure the PBS would show up on your doorstep with a few hearses to collect you

I like the one with fins the best! (even though it’s not the one for sale) I’m with Jesse, I would strip all the SS off, sell it, get rid of the vinyl roof, and then paint it some cool blue color and you would have a bad a$$ Cadiup!!!
