Estate Sale Find: 1969 Mustang Mach 1

1969 Mustang Mach 1

Eagle-eyed Barn Finds reader Andrew spotted this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 tucked away in an estate sale listing out of Washington State, here on Said to have only 87,000 original miles and been garaged most of its life, this could be a sleeper-grade discovery worth giving a closer look. Though not much useful info is given, the auctioneer’s website claims it remains highly original with lots of documentation included. They are looking for the best offer closest to the listing price of $18,750, and if you want to bid in person, the auction starts tomorrow at 8 a.m. While certainly an attractive color combination, the location of the sale gives me some pause as I’ve seen lots of rusty cars come out of the coast of Washington. Hopefully, this car is as good as it looks in photos. Do any of our readers live near Camano Island for an in-person inspection?

4 valve head? The only thing I can think of is, they’ve seen the 351 4V on the air cleaner and thinks it means 4 valve head. LOL

  2. JW

Yep people who don’t know much about cars make that mistake all the time as far as the 4V being 4 valve. Car looks to be a pretty modest optioned car IMO. A closer inspection would definitely be in order to make an offer.

At first glance I thought the Mustang for sale was located at Camaro Island! That would have been really laugh-worthy! ^_^

4 valve heads also required ordering a flux capacitor.

Ed P: good observation. But I was thinking that the Flux Capacitor was not available until 1985, maybe I’m mistaken tho.

56 Olds: Electronic flux capacitors became available in 1985. Before that they were mechanical.

It appears the front passenger floor has the carpet pulled up.. I can just barely see the jute backing.. Someone was looking for rotted floor pans.. OR, there is a pile of junk on the floor..

    Buyer beware on this puppy.

Camano offers mild temps. And if the car had been in a garage, little rust would be found, unless it was driven on a beach somewhere….clean car…wish I had the $$$$

I wonder how many times they’ve been told 4v means four barrels (venturi) There was never this confusion in the old days.

Seems a little expensive to me, I’ve seen a few completely restored for 45k, To start out with 20k, I myself wouldn’t risk it.
