Reader Dana C has decided it’s time to part ways with their Impala. They’ve owned it for a number of years but stopped driving it about 10 years ago. Seller’s Description: This is a well-preserved four-door 283 V8 car with Powerglide transmission, there are a ton of spare parts including a 283 engine and transmission, hoods, doors, trunk lids, seats, trim, radiators, etc. I stripped down two, a 1965 and 1966, Impala 4-doors for spare parts. I saved just about everything except; driveshafts, rear ends, and front and rear window glass. I have bumpers, dashboards, and some exceptional pieces of trim including a flawless front grill, which comes with the car.
Body Condition: The only visible rust through is on rear doors, there is surface rust on the roof. The original rust retardant coatings are just beginning to peel off. The interior is in reasonable condition but will probably need to have the seats and carpets redone.
Mechanical Condition: I stopped driving it about ten years ago (too many college kids with antilock brakes scaring me). I believe that it would start up with a tune-up and new gasoline. All components were working when I stopped driving it.

Wow, my grandfather had this exact car. I remember, as a kid, my grandparents would take us to Big Boy in their new ’65 Chevy, it was quite a treat. Thanks to BF’s for helping me remember them.

what I call a bargain! Yes, you can wake
this old girl up really easy and with very
little effort on your part. My late FIL did
that to a ’67 Biscayne 4-door sedan before he passed away in 2003. Here’s

Sounds and looks like a great deal of parts. A complete car to cut up. Think of the number station wagons you could rebuild! Now that’s where the money is now.

it must not have been very “special” to Dana C since he parked it, apparently outside, ten years ago. And I am willing to bet it will need more than a tune-up and new gas to get it moving. Overpriced for what and how it is.
