EXCLUSIVE: 1982 Chevrolet Camaro V8 4-Speed

As early Camaro prices continue to climb and more and more of us that grew up with the 3rd generation Camaro start looking to relive our younger years, these fun machines are starting to appreciate. Obviously, there are certain years and options that are more desirable and even extremely low mileage examples aren’t fetching crazy money, but it won’t be long and even high mileage examples will be going for decent money. The example seen here has seen 126k miles but is actually in good shape and it’s equipped with the 5.0l V8 and a 4-speed! And did I mention that it spent 18 years in an Ohio barn?

Prior to being parked in the barn, this car was being daily driven in California. It made it’s way to Ohio and was soon parked. Reader John B got it out of the barn a little over a year ago, got it running and driving, but parked it again. He isn’t going to get around to fixing it up, so it’s now up for grabs! It’s going to need some work, but the body is rust free and the interior is in decent shape.

The V8 hasn’t been started since last year, but chances are all it will need is a tune-up and a new battery. It’s believed to be the original engine, so you might want to consider giving it a full refresh if you want to get the most performance out of it. John also recommends replacing the belts, hoses and doing a full brake job on it since it’s been parked. The brakes were good prior to being parked last year, but it’s always a good idea to go through the brakes on any classic right away. With a little work, this could be a fun driver, so take a closer look and make John an offer via the form below!

It’d be nice if these stayed affordable actually. Young folks will laugh at the performance but in ’82 you were Joe Kool if you drove one of these.
That was the year the all new Camaro and the first real 5.0 HO Mustang were gracing the pages of car magazines, the rivalry between new Ford and Chevy pony cars reignited with a vengence , boasting of barely there 16 second quarters with the Ford being a tick quicker despite being pounced in the looks department. Hey, at least it was a start in the right direction.
