EXCLUSIVE: Cheap Projects In Tennessee

We recently received a message from Linda O about needing help clearing out a few projects that are sitting in her father’s garage. He ran a salvage yard for a number of years and had a private stash of cars that were too solid to leave outside. Now that he is gone and the salvage yard is closed, she needs to get the last of his cars sold. Her prices are quite reasonable, so take a closer look at these projects and you can contact her via the form below.

From Linda O – My Dad just past away and was a car collector for years and still have a few stored in an old garage that has been there for 20 plus years. He ran a salvage yard that specialized in ’30s to ’80s vehicles. These were some of the cars he wanted to keep in the dry. There were several more that we have sold over the past year. The ones left are also for sale at very reasonable prices. The 1965 Buick Special Convertible is a V8 auto and was running when parked (ask $1,500). The two Corvairs are both 1964 Convertibles, one being a Turbo Spider. You could probably make one good car from the two with several parts left over ($1,800 for both). The last is a 1969 MG Midget Convertible that is a complete car ($1,200). The garage is also full of parts from the ’30s to the ’80s. We would be open to letting people into to pick, so message me to set up a time to come look.

It’s hard to tell the condition of the cars or what parts are here from the photos, so if you are near Clarkrange, Tennessee it would definitely be worth stopping by and having a closer look. Linda needs to get this place cleared out, so be sure to contact her via the form below with questions or offers. If this was closer, we would already be on our way to check out the Corvairs and the Midget. Which of these cars would you be interested in buying?

The good thing about these old cars is that anything car be fixed.

This will either be JC Lane’s old stuff or Prichett Auto Salvage old stuff in Clarkrange TN.

Lane had a LOT of old cars in his salvage yard. He would sell some parts and like to sell old whole cars. Most are rusty junk that calling em parts cars would be a stretch.

Prichets stuff is really old junk.

In either case LOT’S of old parts cars!

It’s actually not Lane’s; my mom said she passed by and saw him very alive today. My Dad is a car guy there and doesn’t know who this is.

The red Buick looks so sad…like a mistreated puppy waiting for a new owner that will love it

I would pick the Buick, but the Corvairs are tempting also, a turbo Spider might be cool,.probably which ever had the best floors and frame/sub frames, the Buick Chevelle frames were known to rust through in snow country.

Cross members rust on Corvairs, A-pillars rust on MGs. The frames would definitely need to be checked on the Buick for sure but Clarkrange is not what anyone would call “snow country.” It is located on a plateau in the middle of the state, but ain’t nothing like Colorado or the northeast in terms of deep snow and salt on the roads.

Folks — a friend of mine made the pilgrimage to Clarkrange over a year ago as these things have been listed perpetually on Craigslist in middle Tennessee. Everything is ruff ruff ruff. Don’t let the indoor storage claim fool you. The buildings were damp. And there is tons of debris scattered all around to make movement of the cars for photographs really hard. No drivers, if I recall. He and I were in it for the Corvairs and the MGs–all of which have seen better days. However, when is the last time a Spyder came out of long term storage with a mate for parts. Buyer beware.
