EXCLUSIVE: Custom 1933 Chevrolet 3 Window Coupe

When it comes to customization, we all have our own tastes, but when a car is done correctly it will almost always have universal appeal. Take this 1933 Chevrolet 3 Window Coupe that is being offered here as a Barn Finds Exclusive. It’s been built into a very nice street rod and while some style choices might not appeal to everyone, the overall fit and finish are so nicely executed that it would be a pleasure to own this Chevy. You can find it in Port Charlotte, Florida with a $35,000 asking price and you can contact Mike via the form below.

Today, in the world of hot rods, ’32-’34 Ford’s are a fairly common sight. Three window Chevy coupes, on the other hand, are fairly hard to come by. Ford built almost twice as many coupes during this time period as Chevy did, so it’s easy to see why there are so many more. The fact that Chevrolet decided to make extensive use of wood in their car bodies certainly didn’t help matters either, especially when it comes to survival rates. As a result, finding a real steel ’33 Chevy coupe can be a bit of a challenge. This one’s body is in amazing condition and that bright blue paint job looks fantastic! The seller does note that there are a few chips in the paint from driving it, but we can’t find any noticeable issues in the photos.

This wouldn’t be a proper street rod without an engine upgrade! Under the hood, you’ll find a Chevrolet 350 V8 paired to a TH350 automatic. You’ll also find a 4-barrel carb, dress-up kit, and a Vintage Air AC system. Power is sent to a Ford 8″ rear end. The front end also makes use of Ford components, with the front suspension being a Mustang II setup. This combination should make for a comfortable and fun car to drive!

The interior of this car stands out nicely. Not because it is a wild custom job, but it’s simple and nicely done. The seats are clearly out of a more modern car, with power controls. The upholstery is a bit dated but is in great condition. The Vintage Air system has been nicely blended into the dash. Speaking of the dash, you’ll find a full set of gauges mounted in the original gauge cluster location with the original style woodgrain dash. This would definitely be an enjoyable place to spend time, even on long trips!

If you have been on the hunt for a find that you can jump in and enjoy right away, this could be the one for you! Customs are always subjective to individual tastes, but this one looks to be well built and not overdone. Things like wheels and even upholstery can be changed out fairly easily, but poorly modified suspensions and botched bodywork can’t. So, if this Chevy is just your style, or almost there, be sure to send the seller an offer via the form below!

The seller gets points for his man cave and very ultra cool cars that I would buy if my bank account would cooperate, but even though the seller gets 10 points out of 10 I have decided to take two points off for the carpeting under the cars.

And I realize that carpeting is great for soaking up gasoline spills, but what about the fire hazard they pose if any gas starts to drip? Additionally, I don’t see a fire extinguisher anywhere along those nicely finished white walls?

    8/10

    Safety First, always!!!!!

Safety first definitely. Remove the potential hazard, the fire extinguisher only works if there is someone there to operate it.

I agree. Plus, I love the fact that he has kept the place grease free. It is an auto storage facility, not a grease pit. I would definitely love to have this one. I agree with all the comments in the article. I feel the asking price is good. But, there all those other obstacles……too numerous to list. Dang, man!!

What Buzzkill Bob said. But it is a cool place. The car checks off all of the street rod boxes (MII, 350/350, etc) but it is a nice car.

You are a funny guy, the modifications only served to make it better. There should be plenty of stock 33 4 doors out there if that’s what people want to see.

Why do people assume that these builds always started with a nice car? Maybe it did, or maybe it was a shell of a body without enough drivetrain components to restore.

You are in a different reality from me (and I would guess 99% of the population) if you think this car had more than enough power in stock trim.

You dont know what it looked like before the guy built it ! It could have been just a shell sitting in a field somewhere or maybe it was originally hot rodded 60 years ago when these were more common and he just updated it. In this day and age few if any mint ,original running cars get modified this way

I honestly believe he has much more than $35,000.00 into the project of bringing it to this condition before keeping it and driving it on occasion…cruise-ins, shows, ice cream runs, date nights, even some medium length trips. So, I agree with Josh, this is a very well done car.
