Facebook Find: 10k Mile 1964 Corvair?

1964 Corvair

One of our readers just sent us a screenshot of a Facebook post that showed up on a buy-sell-trade sort of group in Virginia. The seller claims that this 1964 Corvair only has 10k miles on it. Everything does look good in the photos, but I’m guessing that it’s just an older restoration. What do you guys think? They are asking $10,000 and you will have to use your sleuthing skills to figure out where it’s posted. Click here to view the screenshot. Thanks goes to Matt L. for the tip!

Always wanted a 6-cylinder rotary motor in a car. This could be the first.

Well, it certainly wasn’t originally sold in that color!

Not only would the rotary motor be a first, but this car looks like it has a real nasty bend in the deck lid, the rear bumper guards are completely out of place, and those white bucket seats are completely non stock. 10,000 miles? naaa–maybe 110,000.

At 10,000 miles, the car should be getting it’s 4th oil change!

I think there are a lot of young “whipper snappers” that truly don’t know that old car odometers started over at 100K. Or maybe I’m just being charitable.

Hi Fred, I remember, when a car turned 100g’s, (not too often), it was a big deal. Matter of fact, I can’t remember any of my old man’s cars rolling the odometer over. ( he never kept a car that long) A friends dad, had a mid 50’s Chevy, in the 60’s, that at 99,999 miles, we all went for a ride, and watched the odometer roll to all zero’s again and cheered, YAY!!

The color’s as phony as a $6-dollar bill, so I would assume the owner is likewise.
