Farm Fresh: 1952 Plymouth Concord

1952 Plymouth Concord

Those of you who have been following this site for a while probably know by now that me and Jesse are from Wyoming. At one time you could find classic cars stashed on farms and ranches across the State, but over the years most have either been scrapped, restored, or sold out of state. To me, it is a bit sad that so many of our old cars have disappears, so seeing Tom H’s most recent find brought a smile to my face! Tom lives in Central Wyoming and discovered this Concord on a Wyoming farm. He already has it running and driving, but it still needs some work.

1952 Plymouth Concord 2 Door

From Tom H – 1952 Plymouth Concord Fastback 2 Door. Found in a barn in Central Wyoming. Started and runs by hotwire. Needs all listed below: brake fluid leak fixed, new window glass in front side windows, electrical ignition problems repaired (no coil signal from key switch), paint, some minor dings, but no real dents. 3 turn signal lenses missing, chrome on trunk lid missing on driver side, seat springs exist but have no fabric or stuffing left, 7 inch hole in driver side floorboard, Currently runs and drives!! Perfect for a new restoration. This car is in remarkable condition for it’s age, but is not in shape to be driven much currently. Flathead 6 with 3 on the tree. All Original equipment.

I just want to thank Tom for sharing his find with us and I wish him the best with it!

It’s not “Me and Jesse”, it’s “Jesse and I.”

It’s about the barn-find, not about the queen’s English. If you need to find fault, how about the sport’s millionaires who can’t utter a sentence without a dozen or so, “I mean, like; you know?”

OR, every Teenager in the land saying these things! ALL The Time! I want to scream sometimes. In a recent conversation at a family outing with several teenagers I started counting out loud when they spoke but didnt say what I was doing. They got irritated and demanded to know what I was doing. So I told them I had just counted 16 “likes” and 23 “ya knows” They can’t seem to speak without these crutches!

Josh, I just want to say thanks for the article!! I am working on the brakes this weekend and ordering the driver window glass custom made from a local business on Monday. It had a VIN inspection from the Fremont county Sheriff on Thursday and it is not stolen, which is a plus. I should have a paper title in a few weeks. I also found the missing chrome strip on Ebay for $50. I am getting excited as it goes, but I would still accept a large pile of cash for it, say $5000 or so.–Thanks again–Tom 8-)

Josh, Thanks for the nice article. I am working on the brake system more this weekend and ordering the driver window glass custom made from a local shop on Monday. It has to be two pieces laminated together with transparent film in between for safety and then sanded on the edges and rounded corners made. I also found the one missing chrome strip on Ebay for $50. It is turning out fun as it goes, but I might let it go for $5000 or so if someone made me a cash offer. Otherwise I expect to work on it in my spare time, one issue at a time until it is completely restored. I’m guessing 2 year project with mechanical and electrical this year and paint next year. Thanks again–Tom

What a tool. This site needs an IGNORE feature for trolls like this.

Not quite, but there’s no perfect solution. Some people don’t have a filter when it comes to Internet communication (or even real life, sometimes) and say/type whatever comes in to their tiny little heads. This site has a couple “regulars” like that, unfortunately.

Actually “me and Jesse” is proper and correct, so Peter get out your 6th grade language arts book.

The body style of this ’52 concord was called the ” slickback” , made as 2 door models only . Chev. of similar body style from ’42 to ’52 were called “fleetline” and were available in 2 door or 4 door models. My first car was a ’47 Plymouth special deluxe 2 door . I remember how the speedometer needle changed color as speed increased , from green to amber to red at about 50 mph. Later had a ’54 savoy 2 door. Both good old cars outside of being hard to start in cold weather. Currently drive a ’98 voyager.
