Funky Flashback! 1974 Ford E100 Van

Like, did I leave my comb in your van? Relive the ’70s in this righteous 1974 Ford E100 Econoline Club Wagon. Located in Brockway, Pennsylvania, this classic people-mover seeks a new owner here on eBay where it awaits a $2000 opening bid. If you simply must have it, click Buy It Now and, for $11,000, it will be yours faster than you can say “Is your daughter 18?”

In fairness this van’s full set of windows and bone-stock interior remove it from the parents’ Most Hated list, but having personally been told some decades ago “Don’t ever come here to pick up my daughter in that van again,” I can’t help but think of my buddy Casey’s ’76 Ford Econoline when I see this ’74.

Whatever crimes may have  been committed in the back of this van seem to have left little evidence. It’s ready to work! Though the listing includes no pictures of the engine or interior, the 302 cid (5.0L) V8 runs “very nice,” and it benefits from numerous recently-replaced parts.

The snazzy Cragar S/S wheels and new BF Goodrich Radial T/As complete the ’70s look. When it comes to maximum basic utility, it’s hard to beat a giant box. There’s nothing “mini” about this van. Personally I’d love to see a small business press this van into service as a rolling calling card. I’d immediately trust anyone cool enough to drive this rig with hardwood flooring or carpet cleaning. Add FAST EFI or MegaSquirt to rival most modern vans on reliability and MPG. How would you treat this basic 70s flashback?

I’ve had two of these with no back windows or side!! Both of mine where manual 3 speeds and I grew up driving them everywhere!!! Took them camping!! To rock concerts and even to college!! What a blast I had!! Great truck and they really are ford tough!!!

Definately a wheelchair van for Mom! And the add-on EFI stuff works for me too. Just add a manual folding ramp for
the wheelchair or scooter, a bench seat
in the back for those able to walk on their
own, and you have a winner. With Mom’s
mobility declining, it’s time for me to consider a mobility van for a second car.
As many of you know, I’ve been looking
for quite some time now without much luck. Besides, if it was good enough for
Ironside, it’s good enough for Mom!

All this van needs is some VERY DARK window tint on all of the rear windows, some shag carpet on the floors, wood paneling on the walls, a futon mattress on the floor, some mood lighting, and a Barry White 8-track (or cassette, or CD) in the in-dash Clarion stereo!
Add a “If This Van’s Rockin’, Don’t Bother Knockin’!” bumper sticker & you’ll be all set to cause many sleepless nights for every young girl’s father in the state!! :-P LOL!

LLet’s see…a trip to the appliance store to get a large TV, a washer and dryer? Gotcha covered.

How about a side by side refrigerator/ freezer? Gotcha covered.

Gotta pick my brother, his wife, and their five kids up at the airport?
    Right, gotcha covered.

Those Junior West Coast mirrors will be a great place to mount these new Hustler Twin Trucker CB antennas to go with the NOS Lafayette SSB-50A mobile rig.

Window van? Pfft, may as well live in a glass house. They were good trucks, tho. Heaven help you in the snow with these. They got stuck going downhill.

Had one of these with the 3-on-the-tree in the 90’s–sold it to a Billy Ray Cyrus-mulleted co-worker for $150 who promptly Sawzalled the roof off to make himself a permanent convertible for summertime country adventures.

I had a white 1969, three on the tree and no side or back windows. The previous owner installed a roof rack from an old station wagon on the roof of mine, it actually looked good on it too.

It’s 1980 I’m 22 years old and bought a ’73 from my buddy Noah who was off to Amsterdam to test the goods….The Lime Green Econline had no rear windows, barn doors, floor to ceiling orange shag carpet and a rear face to face rv style table that made into a bed, and a 10 speaker Kenwood in dash for keep the toes tapping.. I installed 2 additional bucket seats right behind the front buckets….everbody wanted to sit in the “Throne” and put their legs on the doghouse, went to San Carlos countless times to see JJ Calle and myriad others perform at the Circle Star Theater….memories abound, my wife of now 36 years and I spend many a evening cruising and parking in that van….I finally sold it a bought a low mile1974 Volvo 164 E… life continues!

Thought ’74 was the 1st year of the extended nose as my brother had a new one?

1974 was the last year for the second generation body. 1975 was the first year of the third generation with the longer nose.

74 was the last year of this model! It ran from 68-74! The 75 was the longer nose in the front!! The dog house on the 75 left room between the front seats to get from the passengers side to the driver side!! The 68-74 model you could not do this!!

Ah, all these yrs I thought was a ’74. I drove it once, 1st time w/ trying 3 on tree when 17 in ’77. I liked it so much I bought a new E150 in ’86, the reliable 5.0 injected, put a nice dual windowed raised roof, luan & insulated the walls & a set of ’86 IROC Camaro Recaro’s in it. One of the longest vehicles I owned, 4 yrs.

My Dad had a couple 1969 E100s, I had a couple of the too, although I think one of mine was a 1971. Both of mine were inline 6 & 3 on the tree, Dad had one equipped the same & one with a V-8 & automatic.
I still remember the smell of those Van’s, they all smelled the same.
This one has the wrong grill. It is for a 1968-1970. It was updated for 1971-1974. No biggie. Just an observation.
