We appreciate Ikey Heyman for sending this tip our way. This 1966 Ford Bronco is clearly a project but it looks restorable to me but will need some work. The Bronco is listed here on craigslist for $13,999 in Denver, Colorado. The red exterior is dull and the interior shows quite a bit of surface rust, even on the removable top.
The Bronco is equipped with a removable hardtop and is claimed to be a rare find. The seller states that he bought it and it has been sitting in his garage for the past 2 years. You can see some rust through on the bottom of the tailgate but there is no rust on the frame. The tires are said to be good and spare parts are included with the sale.
The interior looks like someone started taking things apart as there is no flooring and only one seat in place. With 1966 being the first year of the Bronco, it was offered in three configurations including the two-door wagon, half cab pickup, and open body roadster.
Engine options included a 170 cubic inch inline six-cylinder engine, a 200 cubic inch inline six-cylinder engine, and a 289 cubic inch V8 engine. The ad does not reveal what engine is under the hood but the seller does state that the clutch is out.
14g’s for a rough riding, ill handling, pos when new. And I can’t break $10g’s for a pristine 93 300ZX. Some days it’s not worth chewing through the restraints. But, hey, the market has spoken.
One day it might be worth in excess of $10,000, based on condition and options. However, at this point in time, it’s just another used car. It probably needs 5-10 more years before “collectors”, people who wanted or owned them in their youth, drive the prices higher. This has happened to countless cars, and likely will with yours, especially if it’s a manual or turbo charged model.

I don’t understand the fascination some have for these things. My recollection is when they were new they either rusted away or fell apart in a couple years.
got my ’70 in ’83 & 3 more in the 1st 10 yrs combined made the 1 I got now. Since than everything is available after mrkt (like the stang). Some take the vin from the glove box and make a new one claim OE so it’ll sell at just abt any price (shame).
I like em like this (no dash pad) but would seek oe steer wheel, & seats, put on uncut fenders back to the rear, etc.
There is a TONa bronks in Colorodie and a fella in Denver made em 4 dor. Course one of the ‘Limited Editions” were for the football team (along w/ “Ballon Chasers”, Stropp’s “Baja”, some to the military and so on
‘66 Bronco is evidently equipped with a 289- at least according to the fender badges. Looks like a good deal to me.
I guess some of you folks have not been following the prices some of these truck have been fetching. It’s crazy but apparently people love them. Many have been featured on here. He probably won’t get what he is asking but they do bring in the bucks.
IMHO after owning 2 a nice one and a beater off road one, this one is a 5K Bronco as it sits !!!
