“Heavey” Duty: 1930 Ford Sedan Delivery

There are only 3 pictures and little information provided with this listing on eBay with a BIN of $13,500. It’s located in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, southwest of Boston. It is said to be original with an old repaint. The R.J. Heavey Co is still in business and was founded in 1962 so perhaps they had this restored somewhat and repainted as advertising for their business? The number on the side is their current phone number. It would be interesting to know the history of this old truck.

It looks original inside except for perhaps the fan. It also looks complete except for a few things like the right door panel.

This is a cool looking old truck that at least looks original. There’s no word or pictures of the engine. It could be the original or a modern engine for all we know. This would be a fun old truck to drive around looking just as it is if the engine is OK, there are no major issues and the price was more reasonable. Sadly, it would also make the basis of a custom of some kind. Perhaps there’s someone else looking to promote their business with a unique vehicle. What would you do with this old Ford?

We have a 1935 3/4 ton Dodge Humpback that we cloned as a Red Cross truck for those swap meets. These are cool rolling or stationary billboards. We have 14 Dodge Humpbacks from the 1st year 1933 to the last year of 1938. 1/2 ton to 11/2 tons.

Learning the history of my cars and trucks is half the fun of owning them. Still trying to find out more about (3) of them.

This outfit is something that begs to be driven and enjoyed. Fix it as you go but NEVER modify it; enjoy it stock and when the time comes, give it a driver quality restoration.

How could this company *not* buy this for their own use if they are still around?

Why does the passenger side have what looks to be sanding done near the door opening in one picture, but in another photo with the door closed, no damage/sanding visible? Need more photos in this ad. Would be a cool project though, regardless.

But only the ones that could go either way. This truck is not one of those trucks. This old girl needs to stay original.Thats really hard for me to say,cuz this would make one sweeet Rod.This truck is only 45min away from me.Its probably a good thing that I dont have the room or the $ for it.On acount of my….so called problem.

I wonder if the company whose name is on the truck
is the one who is liquidating the van ?

You could go with some Kelsey-Hayes spoke wheels, bell drop axle, juice brakes and some period 4- banger speed equiptment. Keeping it period correct would be awesome!
