Hot Rod Potential: 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe

1934 Ford Model B 3 Window Coupe

This 1934 Ford Model B 3 window coupe is a true barn find of 45 years in storage. It has a buy-it-now price of $27,500 Canadian or $20,899.04 US, and is located in Waterdown, Canada. The seller can deliver it to Buffalo, New York. There are no VIN or miles listed. It comes with a bill of sale rather than a title. Thank you, Patrick S, for the tip. You can view more on eBay.

What this car lacks in current visual appeal, it makes up for under the hood. It is fitted with the iconic flathead V8. It does appear to be missing some vital parts and the seller does not mention if they have tried to turn the engine to check if it is seized.

There really is no interior to this car. A spare steering wheel sits on what is left of any flooring. At this point, it is a classic case of a Fred Flintstone power capability. There are no gauges, no door paneling, and lots of rust. Some of the doors and trunk were sourced from another vehicle because there are a number of gaps and pieces that don’t quite look like they fit together properly.

Hagerty released a video on YouTube recently where famous car builder and designer Chip Foose discussed why the ‘32 Ford is so iconic. He mentioned that the many-body styles and variants for that year and the Flathead V8 were the main reasons why hot rod enthusiasts gravitate towards it. The ‘34 retains many of those same aspects and would be an amazing project car because of all the possibilities that you can do with it.

Chip Foose thinks all 32 Fords are model b’s. Kind of silly for a 32 “expert”. The B was the 4 cylinder.

Dang thing wouldn’t let me edit, what I meant to say is he said the Model B is a V8.. it’s not, it’s the four cyl.

The motor is new than the car; its 24 stud.

    California Kid II?
Love the potential here and though I’m typically original, this one has more options IMO.

Great for a first resto project. Please keep it all Ford, and all flathead. Parts are plentiful and reasonable.

It’s steep for me but there’s hot rod guys who’ll drop that money just so they can tell everybody it’s real Henry Ford steel, even if they replace most of it.

Price pretty high for a car that every square inch of it needs to be restored. Looks pretty solid for it’s age. All it needs is a lot of time and money put into it. Hope that happens as these old guys are getting hard to find.

Model B was the desigination of a 4 cylinder ,for 1932 Fords. I have never seen it as a reference to 33 or 34’s , or any other model Ford. I have never seen a passenger car 33 or 34 with a 4 cylinder. Commercial vehicles yes , some 4 cylinder’s. Have heard them refered to as C’s, but have no idea if thats correct.
Also, good luck with the price of this car, I think the seller is way out of touch with the current market !

The greed sees not end..paid $1500 for a 4 door PE 1934. This was last year.

Looks like there was a 32 roadster lurking in the same barn.

This would be a good start for any kind of project, ( original, street rod, custom, or restomod ). The problem is, unless you own a restoration shop with a bunch of techs working at $15 per hour and wholesale parts supplies you would be under water as soon as you put it on a trailer.

In my mind, Chip Foose and Gary Busey are the same guy

Sorry but the ask for this is outrageous, yes its basically complete and not modified but realistically it’s overpriced by over 20K. Cars priced like this are whats killing the hobby. It hurt me to say this as I really like 3 windows over the 5 windows.

If you think this car is $20.000 overpriced, you are really living in the dark ages.

Nice extra banjo steering wheel and I like the hole in the floor next to it. I wonder if this is one of the fabled Minnesota Ice Fishing Special cars??? ;)

Iconic, the word is over used , just like Patina.

Who stuffed the flat head 8 in here ?

Was this not a 4 banger from the Ford slave factory ?

This is crack zone pricing. But if you have to have it……
