Huge Mercedes Stash In Miami!

Mercedes SL Stash

This fleet of Mercedes SL “Pagoda” projects is located in Miami, Florida, and is listed for sale here on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $69,900 or best offer. There are tons of parts in the other pictures in the ad, including (for example) a stack of 4 windshields that appear new, engines, transmissions, and numerous body panels. The seller implies that three of the cars are restorable; there is certainly one solid body in the pictures. It’s apparent that a good SL can bring a lot of money now, but any of these cars will require a lot of work. I admit to being puzzled by the pictures; not only the four SL’s, but other Mercedes cars of the era are pictured, and all are at least partially disassembled. The seller mentions that they looking for $145k for the entire warehouse. Why take them all apart at the same time? If you go after this find, please let us know!

Well organized and stored, everything looks clean even the warehouse/shop. In this state of disassembly I’d imagine it’ll be a tough sell though.

There is a notorious Mercedes Shop that escapes my memory, they’ll probably grab the inventory eventually for a pittance.

It is really hard to figure out what their game plan was to end up with that many cars all in pieces! ???

I’m sure they were attempting a parts supply house.

One at a time came along.
They were trying to figure out what to do when the second came along and so forth.
Every following car probably looked better than the previous one, but the work was still to be done….
    Just my guess……

Seller has trouble clearly communicating what is part of the auction, or doesn’t want to be bothered …
…and that will make this very difficult if not troublesome in the end.

Years ago, I went to an estate sale where the “collector” had 43 Morris Minors in a barn, covered with dust, untouched for years. All had had their engines removed. There, on pallets, were 43 engines in two neat rows. Nothing else had been done to the cars.

I have long since given up trying to figure out what car guys are/were thinking. We’re all, to a greater or lesser extent, crazy.
