Just A Nice Old Car: 1950 Chevrolet Styleline

This 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe certainly isn’t the car to buy if you want a perfect car, but if you are interested in a cool old car to drive, this might be the one for you! The seller is very honest with a description that explains how there’s some rust through in the doors and includes good pictures of the issue. It’s been a South Carolina car for it’s entire life and is currently located in Simpsonville. It’s up for sale here on eBay with an opening bid of $5,600 without a reserve. The car starts right up and has less than 74,000 miles. The seller has done a lot of recent work on the fuel system including a new fuel tank. There’s an issue with one rear brake due to inactivity. The seller listed the car due to lack of space. I like the simple interior and lines, despite the cosmetic flaws. How about you?

    While this is the 2 door sedan my father had a 1950 2 door coupe. I loved that car. It was black with gray mohair interior. It had the original 6 cyl. with a 3 speed that had the shifter moved down to the floor. Me being 10 years old, I thought it was a great little car. However, life takes over and he traded it for a much more practical 1957 Chevrolet 210 Station wagon for our family of seven in 1963~4.

    I like those old Chevs…I hot-rodded several with Olds n Buick V-8s…I think it’s enough money in it’s current condition but still cool…I hope someone saves it.

    Nice-looking car overall. Got some rust to fix and the interior is going to need some major attention. The Powerglide is reliable enough but if it isn’t started up every so often, the ATF seeps out of the torque converter and floods the transmission reservoir to eventually make its way out the breather. I’d say that the price is about max’d out where it is because it’s going to take $10K to give it what it needs. And you can pick up a real good driver for $10-$15K.

    I had a really rusty 49 fleetline that i had a 396 4 speed sitting in it that we toyed with doing a gasser with it. Finally came to my sensesand parted it out. Save myself a kot of work money and tetnus.
