Just An X-11: 1969 Camaro

1969 Camaro

When I first spotted the back of this Camaro, I got excited that I spotted a Z/28 project, but then I read the seller’s listing and discovered that it’s an X-11 car. What does that mean you ask? Well, X-11 was a trim package that was available on just about any Camaro, except SS396 and Z/28 cars. I know, that’s a bummer, but it still has a 350! The body is showing some rust, but it has an interesting look to it and would look killer left looking rough. You can find this Pony here on eBay in Shirley, New York. If it had been a Z/28, the $8,500 would have seems like a decent price, but is high for a base 350 car. If there aren’t any structural issues, it might be worth making an offer, but what do you think?

Even as a donor for a rebody I don’t think the price is too far off the mark, Is that a real cowl induction (GM) hood

Im getting to sell my 67 RS. I bought the car from a good friend. He is the second owner. Its a non-matching numbers engine & tranny. It has a chevy 350 and a Muncie M20 or M22 4speed tranny- I still have to get the codes and casting #’s off the tranny. He started taking the car apart here and there like the seats, Door panels, carpet, bumpers, door handles etc. But most of the car is all there and even most of the bright work and parts where stored with the car. It sat in this garage for nearly 34 years- yes 34 years! The worst is the driver side floor pan has some holes in it, but truthfully the rest of the car is solid as ever! I may have to sell it as soon as I get the title as I have many other projects at hand. I’m waiting on the Title as we speak, and I’ll know better by then if i want to sell it.

I’m not saying this about you per say as on your second post I do believe it to be true. However, HOW many times do we ” hear ” do we hear ” tooooo” many projects…….. won’t anyone ever just say ” flip” lol??????. Another part I’ve never fully understood how so many people are ” waiting on titles “. Yes I’ve had to in the past once or twice but not all the time like we all hear all the time.

Jackson’s comment has been deleted for having a serious case of potty mouth. Sheesh man!

@Roger – Some of us do take on more projects than we can realistically complete. I’ve done it before and I’ll probably do it again. When you find a good deal you have to grab it even though you know you shouldn’t. Also, some States take their own sweet time issuing titles. Wyoming would type a new one up while you waited, but Idaho makes us wait a month unless we pay them a rush fee. Seems like a scam to me. Anyway, no one admits to flipping because everyone hates flippers, even though everyone secretly wishes they were so lucky.

It’s got the badge on the back, so good enough for me. The only thing I would ever care about is structural rust.

Spell Check People ! Please…..Spell Check ! Not to mention the lack of proper punctuation. This may be Barn Finds but we weren’t born in a barn ! (well, most of Us anyways :) )

“Spell Check People!” is not a sentence. Also, there should be a comma after the word “check”. The Word “People” should not have been capitalized, as it is not a proper noun. The second segment, “Spell Check! is also not a sentence, but a fragmented sentence, and the words “Spell Check” should not have been capitalized, as they are also not proper nouns. The next fragment is also not a sentence “Not to mention the lack of proper punctuation.” The word “Us” should not be capitalized either, as it is not a proper pronoun. I hope this helps.

@pces2000-an M-22 Muncie is referred to as a “Rockcrusher” because of its straight cut gears and loud unmistakable whining sound. Should not be difficult to distinguish it from an M-20 or BW Super T-10. Look forward to seeing your Camaro featured as an Exclusive on Barn Finds in the near future.

Appreciate the advice RoughDiamond, Ive heard this before. I’m still learning. The camaro isnt running or driving at the moment so I cant tell the difference until I get under the car and get the numbers off the tranny. The camaro originally had an automatic with the shift on the column, but my buddy made it a 4-speed. He passed away so I don’t think his wife would know. She’s in the process of getting the title for me and so that’s all I’m waiting for. Trust me, I would have never of got the opportunity to buy the car if he had not passed. Hard decision to keep it or sell it.

Fairly deep water??? in all honesty, if you know rust and know the 69 Camaro/Firebird body it is no surprise. The corner piece joins the fender to the lower valance often traps moisture + salt = rust.

If it’s not a Z28 then why does it have Z28 on the back panel
