Do you have any salt flat dreams? Here is an original belly tank racer that has been listed here on eBay and is parked in Flagstaff, Arizona with a BIN of $13,500. The owner was told that this car was built in the 50’s by Bill Burke who used a 750 gallon belly tank to build this racer.
This car was purchased in the 1990’s in Santa Barbara, California from a vintage car collector. It has been parked ever since, but the time has come to pass it along to someone that will get her back on the salt where she belongs.
The original engine was not in the car when purchased, but the manifold, exhaust, heads and other parts were in the belly of the car.
The present owner/s purchased a running flat-head V8 with a Lincoln Zephyr 3 speed transmission and installed them.
The seller states that “this is a very rare piece of vintage racing history that is in very good condition“. There is no title and it will be sold with a Bill of Sale, although we doubt the lack of a title will be much of an issue if your just going to take it to the flats. You can call Bill, the owner, with any questions. So do you have some salt fever? Go fast and remember to stay straight until you have to make the return run!

needs work to get it finished. big gas pedal and very small brake pedal, as it should be i guess. i hope it does get saved. interesting find.
Very cool find, what a thrill ride this would be. As for the engine it would for sure have to stay, with the hot rod goodies put back on of course. By looking at the pictures it looks like it’s not to far from running.
