From Matt K. – This past weekend I was in Portland Oregon enjoying a weekend away with my wife. We found these Citroen’s in Southeast Portland. Of particular interest is the legendary DS 21 otherwise referred to in France as the goddess. The DS 21 hasn’t moved in about eight years but boasts current tags so the city doesn’t haul it away.
If you didn’t already know, Portland’s unofficial motto is “Keep Portland Weird”.

Yeah, I don’t think that Portland will have the moto “Keep Portland Weird” Austin, TX has the trademark.

Did Matt K talk to someone connected with these Cits? There are a few of us out here who are addicted to this particular weird.How does he know the D hasn’t been moved in so long? Is the owner old and ready to part with any of these [sort of like me]? If they are younger and the 2cv
wagon is as good as it looks [and ’75 or older] I might like to trade a 69 1/2 5 speed ,turning lights. green fluid, 2 heater wagon. Us addicts need to know.

I can’t tell if the image is attached or not, but I can get some to you if we go direct. It was restored in mid ’80’s and best I can tell was owned by one man and 2 women, I got it from the last women who had the turning covered lights put in. There was a “shakey sound” so she kept it at 55mph or less and thought it was the tear in the hood so I had the cit mech
put the spare hood on while he was having the radiator completlly overhauled and getting
everything ready for the drive from Was. to mid Calif. Turned out to be a steering tower needed tightening which I did down here. Runs and drives well what it needs is someone ready to paint the bubbling is just starting. Let me know your interests I’ll write a book if I keep going, it has the jump seats way in back not the folding between front and rear which would be a famile. Vern
I have been to Portland on and off for the past eight years and have driven by that DS 21 countless times. The car is always there in the same location . After researching the car and watching the commercials and listening to Jay Leno brag about his DS I have to add this car to my bucket list. I also watched a Citroen wagon go for 10 grand at the Lemay auction this past weekend. Wow what a car! Maybe I’ll get up the nerve to do a cold call my next time through
Speaking of weird, the last time I saw a 2-CV utility truck it was being driven by Inspector Cluseau working undercover as a telephone repair man.

…looks like we are back at it with the “weird” cars in general, and the 2cv in particular?….I for one ( read my posts in 2014) love my 3 2cv’s and I seem to be attracted to all “weird” autos. How about Tatra? …. A air cooled rear located V8…..all the Corvair configurations (f–k Ralph Nader!) ….a Trabant, yes!…..DS of course…..Panhard’s……and so many others! These cars are the fruit of some genius minds, dare-to-be-different people, men who “pushed the envelope” and eventually contributed to progress, whether they knew it or not. I do not have a big budget, so I go with what I can afford, but passion is not always proportional to money and I can tell you that I get more appreciation! recognition also, with my 2cv’s and my 1955 Nash Rambler Super ( a rare sight indeed!) than most people with high ticket machines…..drive what you love and love what you drive!

Late to the conversation but I’m glad I found this thread. Long story short, I came upon this same property while visiting last weekend but more significantly, I just so happened to take the attached picture during an earlier visit- in 1998! The blue car on the left may not have moved in 20 years (it’s still in that spot, and can also be seen on Google maps).
