Koenig In Slovakia: 1982 Mercedes 380 SEC

1982 Mercedes 380 SEC Koenig

From John F. – Hey Barn Finds! Somebody just posted this nice Koenig-Specials Mercedes for sale here in Slovakia. It is possibly the only one in my country at the moment; they seem to be very rare! That is an interesting one John. Looks like Koenig is a German tuner that has been in business since 1974. They specialize in Ferraris, but have hopped up a bunch of other makes over the years. That Prancing Pony connection could explain the Testarossa fender treatment going on there? According to the Koenig-Specials site, there are a lot of fakes out there so you will want to contact them before making an offer on this one. Please let us know if you end up taking it for a test drive. Thanks for sharing!

I have to correct the date of registration, it was January 3rd, 1983. Sorry, people say we have a heatwave.

Last registered owner bought the car on November 24, 2007 and following the RDW databases it must still be on his name.

    Thanks for sharing Jesse!

Wish I could go take it for a test drive but the car is way out of my hobby price range :D I’ll leave that up to someone else. Really hope it’s not fake though; I hope someone will let us know.

hi folks, this car may be in Slovakia, but it is still a dutch car with a dutch licenseplate and still with original dutch papers.
It had 3 owners, is original dutch, first dated on:
    03-01-1983
    last owner since 24-11-2007
    securitycheck till 04-06-2017
    weight 1800 kg
    Have a nice day.Regards, Dik

From the RDW-databases (Dutch Motoring dept.): Although ‘the car is model ’82, it’s first registration was January 3rd 1983 (combination on plate tell the date of assembly/registration of new cars or the date of first registration of imported cars).

The latest change of owner was on November 24th 2007 and this Mercedes must still be on this owner’s name. Also, it’s legally roadworthy in the Netherlands till June 4th 2017.

Strange, because exporting a car out off Holland means a tax refund for the exporter, but I cannot find any signs of it being stolen.

Giving a value of the car here in Europe is not that easy, mayby because of the ‘Miami Vice cocaïne king car’-kit? (Thanks, Jason!)
