Larry Voorhies Estate Auction

Larry Voorhies Estate

I don’t know who Larry Voorhies was, but it would seem to me that he had good tastes in cars! He amassed a collection of classic cars, tractors, and all kinds of toys. I’m not all that interested in the tractors or toys, I am quite interested in his cars. I see at least a couple Fords I wouldn’t mind having, at least two Mopars that would make for great projects, and a couple Chevys that I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy working on! While I find estate sales to kind of depressing, I wouldn’t mind walking around this field to take a closer look at the cars. The auction house states that the cars, tools, and other large items will be sold online, but I would assume you can still go view things in person on the specified inspection dates in July. The estate is located in Bancroft, Michigan so if you are in the area, be sure to stop and take a look. You can find more information here on Sheridan Realty & Auctions, but for some reason the auction catalog doesn’t seem to be working (once it’s fixed, we will let everyone know). Special thanks to Chuck D for this tip! So which of these cars would you like to have?

Not even a text listing of items? WTF?!? If I was the seller, I’d get a more competent auctioneer!!

Oh and as for me, I’ll take that poor lonely looking Ford Torino, thank you. With luck, there may be a big block lurking under the hood… ^_^

Oh and PS: I can’t help but wonder if the previous owner was/is somehow distantly related to Lark Voorhies??

I went to High School with a Larry Voorhies and the guy passed away. This isn’t in our home town, but close.
He was a car guy back in school. I have no way of knowing if this is the same person. I’ll have to check this out.

Another estate sale of an accumulation of cars that appear to have been left out in a Michigan field for who knows how long. At least they were saved from the crusher, but……then they were left out in a Michigan field for who knows how long.

The saved-from-the-crusher part is good, but it would also have been good to accumulate maybe just 1 or 2 or 3, inside where they could be protected and worked on toward being good drivers someday. That would have been good, too.

These hoarders, yeah, just lotsa mental illness and not much else. It’s sad but there’s no reasoning with these guys. (And they’re almost always guys.) They don’t have enough money to properly look after their hoard, so it all goes to pot. How ’bout just ONE car and keep it beautiful?! No, these guys would rather accumulate a ton of junk. Sad. This field has some cars not so far gone so they must have been recent additions to the herd.

Good lookin’ Case tractor there with a bucket on the front.Might be the deal there as you may need one to lift the cars up on trailers.
