Let’s Go 4-Wheeling! Stretched 2001 Jeep Wrangler

It may not be a barn find, but with millions of Americans out exploring and camping this week, it only seemed fitting to feature this eight passenger Jeep Wrangler! It was used to haul sightseers between Denver Colorado and Rapid City South Dakota. Find it here on eBay where bidding is currently at $3,500 with only a few hours left!

This one also has personal interest to me because I’m on the hunt for a Jeep and this one serviced my old stomping grounds. My family made countless trips over to Mount Rushmore and down to Denver to go shopping. We never made the journey in anything like this though!

Good thing that’s not the four-cylinder in there! Even with the six, this engine has gotta be taxed pulling around that long body. It sounds like everything has been well serviced though and I doubt it was taken off-road much. This thing would be fun to take on a trip through Custer State Park to see the buffalo and donkeys!

This super long wheelbase 4×4 probably does great on the highway. Just be careful on the trails. You wouldn’t want to get high centered! It does have a two inch lift and what looks like larger tires so maybe it would do alright. Just image the look on everyone’s faces when you show up to tackle the Rubicon!

Very cool, probably wouldn’t fit in my garage though.

If it had a proper closed hard top it would be good for a large family. I know of at least two families with enough kids to justify something like this. In western Canada though you’d need a closed top. With this much lenght this would be very stable on ice and snow, but you’d likely need something under the hood with a little more punch. My thoughts go to the modern chysler hemi. Can you imagine this thing with the hemi pulling one of those tandom axle tent trailers. And 6 kids in the back. Very cool.

With a closed top, cross winds would not be your friend…the Unlimited 4 door is bad enough.

Cool! Reminds me of a land based duck ride. Anyone know what the device is on the back of the 2nd seat? Looks like a place to hang a ball cap or small coils of rope. Happy 4th to all!

Rip the seats out…fab a hard metal shell.
Leave the fabric over the drivers seats as a targa top. Turn this puppy into a stretch camper.

Great! Move to Florida, buy a couple of acres in central Florida, start a business called Geriatric Park and drive around in this thing with a bunch of 85 year old alzheimer’s/dementia patients at about $25 bucks a head while telling them they are “on safari”. I can’t possibly conceive of any other possible use for it.

That Jeep could fit my whole fam! Just also wanna add that I am on the process of revamping mine. I’m a traveler guy so making it a little off road-friendly. Added skid plates, fog lights, and other things. Also, just really want to share what I have for my Jeep: https://www.jeepsareus.com/sku/tctrl864.html.
