Mach 1 Interior: 1973 Mustang SportsRoof

1973 Mustang SportsRoof

If Mach 1 Mustangs have gotten a little too pricey for you, may I suggest a less flashy fastback like this? The 351 under the hood isn’t as powerful as the top-of-the-line Cobra Jet, but it’s the same thing as was installed in the mid-range Mach 1 in 1973. Without all the stripes and spoilers, this one isn’t going to turn as many heads, but once you’re inside you won’t know the difference. The seller mentions it and a quick check of the numbers confirm that this car is fitted with the Mach 1 Knitted Vinyl interior! This is a well-optioned car, but the asking price does seem a bit optimistic to me. Take a look here on craigslist and let us know what you think. It’s located in Van Nuys, California and thanks goes to Norb B. for the submission!

I don’t want to poop on anyone’s parade but I never cared for the NASA hood Mustangs of 71 to 73. The color on this one sucks and I changed the Ginger on our 70 because my wife and I hated it. If I’m not forgetting something I think the 351C in this 73 was detuned from the one in our 70. I see this car as nothing special and $8500 is too much. JMO take it or leave it.

I don’t think it’s to much for a Mustang fastback in this condition. They are coming into their own. and fastbacks are very desirable in any of the early years. I’m sure someone will like it. There’s always the possibility the seller will take a little less. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/classicmustang/info

Gold Glow may be a rare color, but it’s the textbook example of a polished turd.

At least the seller didn’t try to claim, “3,290 original miles”!

I noticed this car spent some time in Hawaii thus the Hawaii safety inspection sticker on the rear bumper. Keep a eye out for corrosion!!

All these oddball 60s and 70s colors are a breath of fresh air in this era of grey and black cars. Harvest gold, avocado green…they speak of the 70s era like the salmon pinks and turquoise greens marked the late 50s and 60s.

I embrace all of these colors in all of their hideous beauty. Slam it and paint it metallic silver? Yawn.
