Huge Motorcycle Shop Liquidation

Motorcycle Shop Liquidation

VanDerBrink may have made a name for themselves with the much publicized Lambrecht auction, but since that monumental event they have been called on to sell off many other large collections and it looks like they have now moved into motorcycles too. Apparently, this Honda dealer is going out of business so everything must go! This shop has been in business for 30 years so there’s a lot of stuff in there. There are 100 bikes – mostly Hondas, but a couple BSAs too. There’s also a lot of parts and tools going across the block so this might be a great opportunity for a motorcycle enthusiast to pick up a few deals. I even spotted some classic cars in the inventory list including a 454-powered 1970 Impala! The auction will take place in Greenfield, Iowa on Sunday, September 6th starting at 9:30am. Take a look at the auction site here and let us know if you see anything worth dragging home. Thanks goes to Jim S. for the tip!

Actually they have not been in business for 30 years. They closed shop 30 years ago when the owner retired in 1985. They where in business for 20 years prior to that. This is an entire dealership barn find. I made hotel reservations days ago.. Me and my pickup will be there. The glut of fresh vintage OEM Honda parts should bring down prices on Ebay..That is not my intent but someone will do exactly that. Many collector bikes in that line up. All of the “F” designated bikes for sure, I’d love to have a CB-X, as I sold mine many years ago. I do not believe this “glut” of parts will put a dent in others prices, it just puts more high dollar parts in the market. Supply and demand command! I’d sure love to go!

Randy, I may have one for you. I bought a 1981 new from Harders Honda. I putz with It when I get the urge. Pretty nice, but I did blow her up once. Rebuilt by a Honda tech overnight so we could go to Elkhart Lake Wi. for the races. 18845 on the stick. Pretty rig, enjoy the looks and memories. She is a silver bagger. My buddy has a 900 F he wants to sell also. We bought them abought the same time, his is silver as well,Take care, Mike.

I’d prefer a ’79 CBX (how much for your ’81)?, as they were the power monster, but I have always wanted a 900F as well. randylyle111atyahoodotcom

Their website sure seems very user-unfriendly.

I have a bunch of vintage hondas, but this deal will require a lot of work to figure out what they even have. Would love to go, just to see what happens, but a lot of this stuff probably won’t bring the money they think it will. If it was a harley shop, it would be a different story all together.

The CBX’s are kings at that auction. Low miles and unmolested.Could bring $15-20K each. I also like the CB350 and 550 Fours. Also, be on the lookout for 1974 CR250m /CR125 Elsinore parts, especially aluminum gas tanks(Cr250m) and exhaust with the “pickle silencer”. There is also a ’79 CBX in Candy Glory Red.

This “greenfield collection” will do very well at auction. The bums who buy complete bikes and part them out on ebay will be all over this auction. Check out the completed auctions of machivmotors on ebay. machivmotors parts out ’69 BSA Rocket 3s for $14,000 and CBXs for $12,000 all day. It doesn’t matter what condition the bikes are in as long as they are complete.

Wow, what a heart breaker, I did not need to see this. I guess everything goes when profit is involved. They must be Ferengi!!

I am hoping to get something small. A mini trail 70 or a ct 90 would be great.

    Ya, it’s pretty gross.

I see there is a Black Bomber in the “greenfield collection”. They part out complete CB450s on ebay for $5000.

Be it cars or cycles they are typically worth less than the retail sum of their parts (rust buckets aside). Cars are usually safe from being parted out due to the labor involved and shipping barriers. Unfortunately for motorcycles any philistine d-bag can completely strip a rideable bike and put it on ebay in a day’s work and the sipping costs are reasonable.

I’ve owned/ worked on almost every model represented in this collection….

pains me to know that some cannibal is going to disassemble/part many of these out instead of restoring them….

another glowing example of why I left the motorcycle business..

..the internet is a spectacular medium/resource (ie: this site), and an infinitely useful tool for the masses.

…unfortunately the bottom-feeders and cut-throat profiteers reap the greatest benefits…

a great treasure chest for someone,…just plan on paying a premium…

Why can’t people figure out how to use a phone’s camera so that it is in a horizontal format? Video or stills, it just does not look right 90% of the time, when the user holds it upright during shooting.

Hold the dang phone so that the long direction is horizontal when you take the shot, the same way your computer screen or TV is oriented.

    Geez.

Owned many Hondas of the 70’s. The were dependable and fast (for the era). Would love to have another 750 ss, 900, or CBX. Love these bikes!

Who could possibly forget Yvette from VanDe Brinks auction.

It’s like Sarah Palin , except she is blonde.
