No Reserve: Low-Mile 1985 Toyota Supra

Though the fourth generation of Toyota’s Supra performance car has been a fan favorite for a long time, earlier models of the Supra gained popularity in recent years, especially after the release of the new A90 Supra. This especially applies to the second-generation MA60 Supra, and this 1985 Toyota Supra that’s available here on eBay is a great example of the sharp-looking classic – especially if you love the color maroon.

This Supra is available in Saint Paul, Minnesota with a clean title. The history of the vehicle is somewhat unclear, but the seller states that it was garage-kept and maintained properly its entire life, with a handful of recent maintenance items under its belt as well, such as new brakes, tires, and more.

The exterior of the vehicle is very clean, sporting a lovely maroon paint color with no detectable issues. I’ve adored the design of these second-generation Supras – would it be controversial to state that the MA60 is the best looking Supra that Toyota has ever made?

Inside the clean and original cabin, the maroon theme continues. It seems there aren’t any changes from the stock form, and the only noticeable issue is some wear on the one floor mat. Additionally, the cockpit includes creature comforts such as air conditioning, cruise control, moon roof, cassette player, radio, rear defroster, power locks, and power windows.

Under the hood, you’ll find a fuel-injected 2.8-liter 6-cylinder engine, which pairs to a 5-speed manual transmission to drive the rear wheels. The drivetrain has 71,566 miles on it, and a recent tune-up includes a new battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and a fluid flush.

At the time of publication, bidding is at $13,700. Would you purchase this pristine 2nd-generation Supra, or is this sports car a little too maroon for your liking?

Somebody missed a chance to retire early by listing this car on Bring a Trailer.

Looks good from 10 feet but Minnesota with poor quality pics scares me a bit.

Reserves the right to cancel any and all bids and car is advertised for sale elsewhere.
That really means there is a reserve and seller didn’t want to pay it.

…didn’t want to pay to have the reserve.

I sold a 1988 targa roof with low 80k one owner miles about 7 years ago for 1500.00. Some mice chewed some wires under the hood but it was all original black with grey interior and 5-speed manual. I didn’t try to fix it or get it running. The original owners (in there 70’s) made me take it with the 1969 Mustang fastback base model that I wanted. I couldn’t take the Mustang without taking the Supra.

Contrary to the last 2nd Gen Celica Supra featured here, this one is neither overpriced nor misrepresented. I too would worry about a Minnesota car, but don’t see any indication this car saw any foul weather.
