No Reserve Survivor: 1995 Ford Bronco XLT

It’s amazing what a set of tires can do for a square body SUV of seemingly any era. This 1995 Ford Bronco XLT is a virtual clone of the truck OJ Simpson famously fled in, and is even a longtime California vehicle with the old-school license plates still attached. The seller has listed it on his behalf of his aunt, who did, indeed, buy the Bronco after seeing it in the infamous California car chase. The truck remains stock with the exception of the aforementioned 33 inch tires, and has just over 130,000 miles with all original paint. Find it here on eBay with bidding up to $17,100 and no reserve.

It warms my heart to think of a time and place where a car dealer could put a black glove inside of a new Bronco and call it a special edition in commemoration with OJ slowly evading the authorities. That’s according to the seller, so it could be heresy – but I could very easily see that happening in real life. The Bronco presents extremely well, with clean carpets, cloth upholstery, and a dash that remains in beautiful condition. The seller reports that the Bronco still has functional air conditioning, and yes, a black glove in the center console from when his aunt bought it new.

Check out the old vanity plate – how cool is that? It’s authentic, too, as the seller’s aunt was a 911 call center employee, and a rugged Bronco just seems like the perfect apparatus for someone with a must-do job. The seller notes that other aspects of the Bronco’s history, from the window sticker to every book and manual you could ask for, are still with the truck and included in the sale. The spare wheel doesn’t match the rest of the mounted wheels and tires, but I’m not sure which design was factory; I can’t recall seeing the spare wheel style on other Broncos. Regardless, the chrome bumpers still shine nicely and the original paint appears to be in excellent condition.

The 5.8 liter V8 is said to run without issue, and hopefully the extensive records that are included will show an ongoing relationship with the local Ford dealer maintenance department, and / or a trusted independent mechanic. The seller is adamant that his aunt took exceptionally good care of the Bronco, and there’s nothing in the pictures to dispel that notion. As far as the “OJ Edition” references, I suspect the next owner will have to decide for themselves how seriously they want to take that moniker. Bidding is strong at the moment, and with under a day left, we’d expect to see a flurry of last-minute activity for a clean Bronco like this.

If it’s never been off road how did the transfer case skid plate get so bent and where did all the chunks of mud on the frame come from? It’s a nice truck but, it’s not the babied cream puff the seller wants you to think it is.

I’d love to own one of these, but I’d probably avoid getting one in white because I can imagine the OJ comments getting old pretty fast!

I never knew about a dealer including a glove in the sale of these Bronco’s. Disgusting.

It needs a pinstripe or vinyl graphics to difference itself from being an OJ Bronco. When I see a white Ford Bronco I don’t think of OJ Simpson and, I was alive during that whole trial. The OJ comments are almost getting old.

Didn’t OJ’s Bronco have a red vinyl interior? It probably should’ve.

The OJ references are definitely getting long in the tooth. The OJ drama lasted 16 months and it was everywhere, all day, everyday. As a sophomore in high school when the verdict was read they even called a stop to school and huddled us all around tv’s to watch the verdict. I’ve had my fill of it.

The wheels are the correct optional wheels for ‘95, you got the standard steel for a spare.
I have a ‘95 and a ‘90, and yes the OJ stuff has gotten super old!
