Robert recently wrote up a beautiful 1967 Thunderbird in this same Wimbledon White color, also with a black vinyl top. This car isn’t quite that nice, but it doesn’t cost the nearly $15,000 that one did either. It’s listed here on craigslist in Lexington, South Carolina for $7,000.
The seller states that they purchased the car from the family of the original owner and that it’s always been garaged. Presumably, this is a picture from the storage location. The car has been cleaned up a little for pictures but not much is given about the car’s condition, although there are a few more pictures than the typical craigslist ad.
You can see from this shot the remnants of one of a couple of pieces of side molding that are missing. The seller says it was aftermarket stick-on molding, so if I picked up the car, removing the rest of it would follow shortly. After cleanup, the paint and top look to be in pretty nice shape.
The interior looks like the claimed 92,822 miles are real, and I don’t see any cracks on the dash, giving credence to the claimed garage storage. The yellow fabric you can see in the right of this shot must have been placed over the seat (maybe a coat?) as it’s clean, original upholstery in another picture.
The seller says the 429 Thunder Jet engine runs, but doesn’t provide any further details. The car was originally equipped with air conditioning as well, but we don’t know it’s condition either. What do you think–the $7,000 car or the nearly $15,000 car–which would you choose?
I think they are both over priced, I’d prefer the ’69, as I used to have one. Mine was a 4dr with bucket seats. I just assumed all T-birds had bucket seats. No bench seats for me, if there’s a backseat.
This has cheesy hubcaps as well. Mine had radial spoke hubcaps that prob weighed 5-10 lbs. each.
Randy, I too prefer the 69’s better. A green on green one sold recently for nearly nothing. The guy who owns it drives it to work at Krispy Kreme dognuts.

These Birds were very stylish, but to me they were just “Lead Sleds”.. lots of luxury and bling along with a comfortable ride for back in the day..
I’m seeing an upswing with these mid model birds and they might just come into their own to pull down some bigger bucks in time..
a magnificent car. Bought one brand new (Aqua blue, white interiors) before going to Vietnam. After returning, drove it to Mexico many times and spend over a year racing BMWs and Mercedes on the AutoBahns. The only one that beat me then was a Porche. Driving time from Bremerhaven to Munich, 8 hours at average speed of 110 mph. put 250,000 miles before storing at our barn in Maine for some 20 years. I was rescued by a good samaritan about 3 years ago to restore in give it a new home.
