One Cool Roof: 1956 Ford Crown Victoria

1956 Ford Crown Victoria

Of all the different iterations of the Fairlane released during its 15 year lifespan, the first generation has got to be my favorite. Especially when it’s a Crown Victoria! Ford was able to take an otherwise plain roof and turn it into a masterpiece by bending a chrome B-pillar forward and then wrapping it up and over the top. Apparently they got the idea from a Mercury concept car. This particular example needs work, but looks like a great start if you’re in the market. The side windows have been busted out, but I’m not seeing much rust. I’m guessing it’s been resprayed at least once, so you will want to inspect it to make sure there aren’t any nasty surprises hiding beneath the surface. The 292 V8 is claimed to have run as recently as a few years ago, so there is hope that after cleaning up the fuel system, it could fire up. The car is located in Elkton, Virginia and is listed here on eBay where bidding starts at $7,500 with only 2 days left!
